http://www.melgibsonforgovernor.com/Stoopid California Republicans. Getting a marginally better actor won't get you marginally better results. I found this sad little fact in
this article about Schwarzenneggar's troubles within his own party. While it's fun watching Republicans eat their own, let's be sympathetic and remember that we're also seeing the state government for 1/9th of all Americans being brutally mismanaged by buttclowns.
His big crime in the eyes of the GOP? Could it be wasting money on failed policies? Of course not. Being unresponsive to the voters? Hardly. Losing an election? Pfah! True believers can always ignore inconvenient facts.
Nope, Schwarzenneggar's crime was hiring a Democrat onto his staff. My guess is that his strategy is to try some Clinton style triangulation, as when the Big Dog hired a key moderate Republican advisor (David Gergen) to remarket his administration. The problem is that triangulation works for Democrats, who are basically open minded and tend to value effective policies over correct rhetoric.
Republicans don't really care what you do in government so long as you hang out with--and hire--the right people. So the governator is now in trouble with his own party... because he actually listened to the voters and is trying to tact his administration back to the center.
Of course Mel Gibson won't be running for governor. Even he isn't that crazy.
