Can Saddam hold up the trial by refusing to go to court?
It's 4AM here in Georgia, and I'm listening to KGO news via the net. They just said court has been held up this morning because a certain accused person has refused to go to court.

Can he do that? I realize it's an Iraqi court and they have different laws than we do, but I would think if this were possible, every criminal in the World would have tried this already!

1. judges eventually figure out a work-around--either drag him in or
show him what's going on on closed circuit TV.

2. In most, if not all states,
a defendant who willing fails to appear for trial can be tried "in absentia", meaning the show goes on without the Defendant. So as Rocky the Flying Squirrel once said, that trick never works.

3. Contrary to what MSM is spewing
the entire trial is a farce. The invasion of Iraq was a violation of international law so like it or not Saddam is still President of Iraq and he is absolutely correct re judge et al being agents of the US. It does not matter how CNN or the rest of MSM spin it - those are the facts. Further, it won't matter how Bushie spins it later either.
Never in my life have I seen a greater inversion of reality. At the end of the day it hardly matters how many times you present fiction as fact, it cannot change the truth.
