Why would some of the rw celebrate the recent Canadian

I was reading on another board. This neo cons was very pleased with himself (and apparently Canada) for moving away from liberalism. I'm not kidding. A few tried to tell him that the recent decision did not mean that at all...but he went on and on celebrating, saying how great it was that Canada had come to their senses, and they too would be embracing the 'republican' life soon.

Excuse me, :wtf: ?

Seriously, why do some neocons act like this is all a race of some sort and their side is winning?

It seems delusional at best.
