Ford confirms pulling ads to appease anti-gay religious right bigots;
company didn't want to advocate for the "gay agenda"

John Aravosis has more detail at his blog, but thought this was interesting:

But he did confirm that Ford had indeed reached a formal settlement with AFA, and this specifically includes withdrawing advertising for certain Ford vehicles from LGBT publications/media. He tried to wiggle out of it by saying that (a) Ford had a good track record re the LGBT community, and (b) Jaguar and other divisions are "almost like separate companies."

Plenty more on the home page with contact numbers and emails. If you're tired of these hate groups trying to run your life, that is.

1. oh well, that rules out ford or jag for my next car.
dammit I really like the Jag S class too.

I guess it would have been too pissy for me to be seen in, and the last thing an AFA person on the street wants to see is his asshole going through his brainpan followed by the Jaguar hood ornament, when I mow the motherfucker down.

4. It's a huge black mark against Ford
in my book. I was considering a Ford Fusion because of the generally good reviews, and my past good experiences with Ford cars. If Ford did indeed cave to the AFA, they have lost my potential business.

2. Wonder how many AFA members drive Jags?
Aren't they all in minivans with six kids?

Ford should have done what Disney did and said, "Who the F*ck are you to tell us where we can advertise?"
