John Kerry on Face the Nation said that the "lies" were "intentional"...
He broke with most other politcians, Democrats and Repubicans, in his denunciations of this White House. When Bob Shieffer asked him if he thought the "lies" about why we went to war were "intentional", Kerry responded in the affirmative. That was newsworthy, I thought.

2. Newsworthy indeed, Kentuck.
Not to mention surprising. After some of Kerry's waffling (e.g. the Crispin Miller backtrack), I'd about given up on getting anything useful out of him.

3. Well, that's encouraging...
After the Miller affair, I'm glad he can show some spine...

5. Too bad he didn't show any...
...until thirteen months after the election at which he was our standard-bearer. :-(

19. Could you imagine that debate?
"Mr. Bush you are a liar. You deliberately mislead this nation into a war, a war for which you have no plan to get us out of. How can you stand before the people here tonight and expect them to vote for you?"

- something like what John Kerry ought to have said in his opening statement in the first debate.

4. but isn't it freaky, the childish refusal to look at
what bushinc is, what the repukes have done, and the damage to the country?....i recall reading about idi amin, who ruled uganda with brutal sloppiness, or marcos in the philipines, or even saddam - demonizing them was easy, since our media spared nothing over the years in describing, almost with relish, how terrible they were, how backward, how wasteful, yet they can't even honestly appraise the destructiveness of this bunch! The entire burden is put on the non conman politicians, who must expose something everybody but the herd knows all about (and this empowers the pigmedia- though the pigmedia set it up that way) kerry et al probably are finessing their moves not with bushinc in mind, as bushinc's reaction is predictable, but the pigmedia, who are known liars and cons, as bad as bushinc, and probably the most dangerous criminals in the land....

8. Safe as milk in their seats too.
I think it's time for Dr. David Banner to turn into this guy again though.

Bush Co. wouldn't like him when he's angry.

11. He did.
It wasn't reported. And he said it in June of this year when he asked the Senate Intelligence committee to investigate the DSM. He has been saying it for a long while. It hasn't made the news.

10. Jimmy Carter said this 2 years ago
and was treated by the press like a nutcase. If I am not mistaken, Paul Hackett has pretty much said it too.

12. I was glad to see it.
Kerry is late to the party but I welcome him with open arms.

He will not be my choice for the Dem nominee if he runs again.

But he is a good man.

21. Thanks for that.
The two issues should be separated indeed.

Want him in 2008?

Nope.

Did he just say a good thing and does he get a cyber cookie for it?

Yup.

I'd do the same for Biden and Hillary, two folks *I* don't want in 2008. You say a good thing, you get a cookie. Simple as that.

14. Um, Bob. If They're Lies, They Have To Be Intentional
If they're not intentional, we call those mistakes. So, as soon as one uses the word "lies", intent is already clear.

This was not amongst Bob's smarter questions.

15. I was amazed....
There was a slight hesitation, but he actually spit it out. Most of all, I liked his synopsis of how he would get us out of Iraq. It was nice to hear someone with an actual plan.

17. Media has mostly been silent on Kerry's plan - it can't be spun into a
soundbite against Democrats, so they ignore that it exists, even though antiwar icons like Tom Hayden and National Security experts like Gary Hart spoke in support of Kerry's plan as DOABLE.

18. Racheting up the rhetoric....good.
The evidence of corruption and criminal intent keep growing. Just in time for the 2006 midterms. It's going to be the most important election in our country's history.

20. Kerry may not do it or say it the way I want a lot of the time
But he doesn't suffer fools. He's smarter than all of them up there on the hill. And he isn't spending his time with bullshit "let's protect the flag, let's save the children from video games" bills. He actually knows there is a crisis in this country and takes it seriously unlike so many others. If nothing else, I hope Kerry dogs these liars as long as he can.
