Sources on "20 oz of water a day"?
Several evil duers have mentioned the troops being alloted only 20 oz of water a day in Iraq.
Does anyone have a link to that information?
Thanks.

1. I've also heard that they are not getting full rations of food.
But only once. Isn't Halliburton responsible for food and water? How about boots, weapons etc. At a billion a week, you think they would be well taken care of.

2. I believe the origin of the quote is Sen Byrd
Reading from a letter he got from a soldier's family.

4. I seriously doubt that this is correct.
I doubt think our troops could survive long in the 120 degree weather on 20 oz of water a day.

6. How hot is it in Iraq?
20 oz a day would make the troops pass out and die.

What the hell is going on over there. First we hear that they don't have enough food to eat and now they are being rationed on water.

7. I have heard no reports from any press outlet that
our soldiers were dying of thirst. If it were true, it would be all over the news.

I hope this isn't true...if it is if these guys don't outright die they their health will be ruined....but I guess that only collateral damage, right...

9. What News? We don't have a media outlet we have the State Run News
We don't have any news outlets anymore. Do you think that the Bush Crime Cabal would allow this kind of info to leak out to the American Public?
Our Soldiers mean nothing to him expect OIL profits. Loosing them doesn't concern Bush any he can replace them with another poor person.
Bush has no concern for life he is a MURDERER.

10. I read that the soldiers were buying water from the Iraqis.
Because of the "purification" process used, the water tastes funny, but it is cold. (I imagine it tastes like chlorine.)

Otherwise, the only water they have is warm.

Edited on Thu Jul-17-03 11:21 AM by ElsewheresDaughter
because they were selling/supplying US soldiers with ice and cold water...so perhaps there is some validity to this story

12. They are wearing Camel Back hydration packs (~50oz..)
http://www.backcountrystore.com/store/product_group_results?mv_session_id=x7UKU234&mv_pc=27&cat_id=3&subcat_id=8&pg_id=100000048&brand_id=89&sort=sku

The camel backs on the link above are "small" but carry 100 oz. The ones the troops are wearing are a little smaller maybe half the size. I would doubt they are limited to the amount of water they can get, but then that really wouldn't surprise me if they were.
