It is very disturbing to hear that my fellow battle buddies are taking the easy way out of that mess over there. My unit was the first one to cross the burm when the war started.I'm in the 7th U.S Calvary. From what you see and hear on the news isn't even half of what's going on over there. Some of the things that my troop witnessed some of the 4th I.D doing to the people was very uncalled for.Now that post war is here it is worse now than it was during the race to Baghdad.I know how those guys feel, and even at times thought of the easy way out at times. The living conditions when i was there, well there really wasn't living conditions other than my hammock, sleeping bag and food my wife sent to me due to one hot meal a day if that.It was pretty sad when that one hot meal was a hell of a moral booster.Otherwise it was MRE's or buying food off the Iraqi's which was most often my choice.Reflect on what i said, it really helps a joe out when he gets a package from family or someone that solider doesn't know but just cares.I'm home now, and i often reflect on the war.To be honest the only thing that kept me going was the fact that i had a photo of my wife and kids with me at all times. That was the reason i had to come home. Bless our troops and God speed battle buddies...(in response to this article below)

1. Is it true that
only family members can send packages to our troops?
