Where is the coverage of our soldiers' deaths? What are their names?
Where are their official photos, in uniform, with our flag behind them, so we can put faces on this tragedy in faraway Iraq? Surely, their families have been notified by now of this news that will change their lives forever.

All I see on TV today is happy talk, political argument, and minutiae. All I hear from my government is rosy economic news. And when those who have fallen come home, I assume they will come home, as usual, hidden from us, unhonored by the country they served.

I've cried today, been enraged, and now just have an empty, hollow feeling, as the story of all these deaths seems to have passed, virtually without notice.

1. Watch the News Hour on PBS
They have done a moment of silence, with names and pictures of everyone we've lost, as their names have been released.

3. But we're supposed to be putting on a happy face; all is rosy
in Iraq; we're supposed to believe all the good-news stories and ignore the bad.
I know, Mom, it's so sad and, were one of these fallen soldiers a relative of mine, I would be beyond enraged that their demise is met with silence.
