10. Time for an Alternative
Edited on Fri Dec-02-05 11:34 AM by erpowers
This is now the time for the Democrats to fight. Body armor may not have been able to help these soldiers, but maybe armored humvees would have been able to help. I mentioned the body armor for two reasons. One, 19,000 body armor kits have been recalled due to defects. Two, Randy "Duke" Cunningham just pleaded guilty to taking bribes of $2 million dollars from military contractors. With soldiers dying due to lack of material it is time for Democrats to point out what the Republican corruption has done to this country and to the military. Cunningham and other Republican sold out the military in order to enhance their pockets.

I think the lack of body armor and armored humvees is directly linked the bribery scandals. Instead of giving the contracts to the best company these Congressmen and Congresswomen gave contracts to people who would give them the most money. Now look what is happening to the soldiers. Now is the time to call the Republican out on their corruption and put forward an alternative to the American people.

16. Sad
Wow, that is really sad. I had forgot about that; however, you would think he would want to buy some kids some body armor with that money. I do sometimes wonder how these people sleep at night. There is nothing wrong with giving your kid a $10 million dollar bat mitzvah if you have the money. However, if your are a military contractor you should get your job done right before you give your kid a multi-million dollar bat mitzvah.

18. Exactly. I think we can assume where got that money, and it was by
skimping on his contracts.

14. Real Reason
Do you think that is the real reason for this "War on Christmas" stuff? Do you think they are trying to keep the minds of the people off the things that are going on in Iraq?

23. yes, we'll change course. Smirky McWarpig said so.
He said that as soon as we trained the Iraqis, we'd get the hell out. Of course, he vowed a few minutes later to stay until all the "terrorists" have been defeated. This is very convenient; you can choose your own favorite outcome based on selective listening to his speech--that way, everyone is happy.

(by the way, thanks very much to whichever DU'er came up with "Smirky McWarpig". It's such a wonderful and fitting nickname, and I wish I could give credit to the DU'er who came up with it).

22. And until Democrats devise ONE PLAN they can unite behind
The killing is going to go on and on and on.

A fragmented party is NOT going to be effective. :grr:

Our party needs to get their shit together, come up with a plan they can ALL get behind. I'm getting very frustrated with the differing voices. We need our leaders to all be on the same page with this exit plan.
