What happens if he gets picked to sit on a drunk driving case? Wouldn't be right would it?

1. you just reminded me of the story that came up in the 2000 election...
didn't the gore campaign find that dubya committed a crime when he falsified a jury duty form by checking that he had not been convicted of a felony when he had that dwi in maine.

2. A conviction for theft or any felony will disqualify you.
But, since jurors are chosen from voting rolls, disqualified people might be called; former felons can vote in Texas. After you're called to duty, you sign a paper stating that you're qualified; or you go to the clerk & explain the situation. Since most people want to get OUT of jury duty, I don't think unqualified jurors are a big problem.

If he were qualified & selected for a jury panel, he might make it through voir dire. It's my experience that asking intelligent questions will make attorneys decide they don't want you on the jury.

3. I was wondering how his record was scrubbed.
I filled out jury duty forms this summer and felons are verboten!
Does his cocaine bust not count or his DW I. I don't know if going AWOL counts, but this shady character should not even be asked to fill out the form. He is obviously a felon and a loser. Poppie and Ma Barker should be proud. What did Poppy have to bribe the jury search team?

4. If your record is expunged, it's like it never happened.
I worked in a county records office and every once in a while we would receive an order to expunge. It didn't happen very often. I don't know if that's because very few people who qualified for expungement realized they could apply for it or if it's because the judges very rarely approved expungement petitions.

I'm sure the Bush team went after all the records they could find. But because of Bush's notoriety and his family's notoriety, it's impossible to erase other people's memories that these things happened.

6. A misdemeanor doesn't qualify for instant juror dismissal,
at least, in the states I know about.

That said, if it were a drunk driving case, I'd think the prosecution would use a "for cause" move to bump Junior from the jury.

I'd love to read Dumbya's juror questionnaire. Just think--it'd be filled out by himself, not like his speeches and everything else he does. I bet it'd be written in crayon.
