RichardClarke was on Charlie Rose discussing
His new book, Bushit's speech and the general manure we are in Iraq.

His book is a FICTION but in typical Clarke style he gets his message out to the masses by telling a needed story. He knows that few read non-fiction, that which we all eat up. The little I heard/read sounds so close to what I worry will actuually happen

Bushit's speech: Clarke and I agree, Bushit is laying the ground work for the US to be in Iraq for at least 10 years. Permanent bases my arse...considering we are building them as we speak.

..And last, the Iraqi leaders all met in Cairo last week......They want us out of Iraq

quote....
The Administration's willingness to discuss removing forces from Iraq, where more than 2,100 Americans have died, followed a sharply worded statement from Iraqi leaders at an Arab League meeting in Cairo last week. The gathering of Sunnis, Shi'ites and Kurds not only demanded a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign troops but also gave implicit support to the insurgency by calling resistance "a legitimate right," so long as it doesn't involve "terrorism and acts of violence" against civilians, institutions and houses of worship.

end quote........

2. Yea, and the Iranian secret group just waiting in the wings
can't remember their name- but it's another example of our moronic ignorance about the checks and balances in the region.

We exchanged a secularist known devil for unknown consequences and possibly the hordes of hell itself. Not to mention the training ground for urban warfare that terrorists are now exporting to Europe and possibly here, according to Clark.

Long after ass hat is out to pasture the world will be dealing with the ramifications of this neoconclusterfuck.

5. Is it a neoconclusterfuck or a
neoconcirclejerk? It is maddening that all this is happening, we all knew it way before the invasion and no one listened.

9. Well these guys are scary and they are in Iraq.
Iran has quite a history with it's secret police under the Shah, and this Al Qods group is very secretive and answers to only two men in a secret council- that are not elected.

The Al Qods blew up the Kohbar towers according to Clark.
Yea, the book sounds good, will buy it.

Glad Clark is still visible.

10. Plot is obviously excellent in
"fiction world". Clarke mentions "open source intelligence scraped by the pentagon due to dislike". Referencing Able Danger. Pretty interesting read. Best part..I think Clarke will start writing a whole series like Clancy. Ending of Scorpion's Gate left that possibility open.

Because we sure could use some. The open source intel link was good stuff, also the President's praise for his Sec of Def after he just got busted taking bribes and making the reporter who broke the story go away - 6 feet under.

18. Happy FSM descension day as well.
Hope you realized it was joke - I know, we stole the winter solstice to convert non believers, Christ was actually born in Oct or November. Enjoy the upcoming festivities.

It's spring, it's time to resurect the earth by spreading our seed around.

14. He was on Colbert R tonight too, quite good.
Obviously not a man who thrives in the limelight, but he made a few funny comments, dry humor, and nailed the Bushies in a really understated way.
