Moonie mag: Cheney's influence has waned; WH no longer formulates policy
:wow:

http://www.insightmag.com/Media/MediaManager/Cheney2.htm

"Cheney's influence has waned not only because of bad chemistry, but because the White House no longer formulates policy," another source said.

"There's nothing to input into. Cheney is smart and knowledgeable, but he as well as Bush are ducking all the time to avoid the bullets."

The sources said the indictment and resignation of Lewis "Scooter" Libby marked the final straw in the deterioration of relations between President Bush and Mr. Cheney. They said Bush aides expect that any trial of Mr. Libby, Mr. Cheney's long-time chief of staff, would open a closet of skeletons regarding such issues as Iraq, the CIA and the conduct of White House aides.

"There's a lack of trust that the president has in Cheney and it's connected with Iraq," a source said...

7. i'm not sure...........
some of it rings true to me. the fact that his "inner circle" has decreased to four women; supposedly mommy, wifey, condie and that harpie karen hughes (this i believe). after all he's been thru in the past few months, he probably wishes he could climb back into the womb where it's safe & warm. but in all honesty, i don't think there are any lengths the msm won't go to in an attempt to paint him in a sympathetic light.

personally, i can't watch or listen to him, but i read reports here on DU yesterday that he got choked up during his "speech" yesterday? it may have been sincere, but i just don't buy it. don't trust him & never will.

8. I'm not seeing any signs that the "counterattack" is working.
The media do seem to be trying to rescue the Republicans in Congress from themselves. But they don't seem to friendly to the Bush boy lately.

3. Outsourced?
If the White House no longer formulates policy, who is? Has that function been outsourced, and if so, to whom?

5. I took it to mean they're in a suspended state of animation.
Too distracted to concentrate on anything but how dismal the world suddenly looks to them.

But it could all just be bullshit, as Canuckistan says.

6. I'm reading between the lines here....
"...he as well as Bush are ducking all the time to avoid the bullets".

Meaning = they're not doing a goddamned thing except hide. Or get out there and lie some more. Or defend themselves to the hilt.

Natural consequence = nobody's at the wheel. This country is not being governed. Notice N. Orleans. News reports are saying that "nothing is getting done". People are not getting the help they need.

10. How does it rescue W exactly?
They say the WH has ceased formulating policy. Isn't that as good as saying the WH has ceased to function?
