Ralph Reed is in deep shit
Ralph Reed is in deep shit.

It seems that while professional fundie flogger Ralph was sucking in $4.2 million in lobbyist fees from Jack Abramoff to whip the gun-rack-and-Gaither-set into a full-on anti-gambling lather that gave John Cornyn cover as Texas AG to shut down the Indian casinos that competed with Abramoff's clients, he failed to register in the state of Texas as a lobbyist:

Under Texas law, Reed was required to register as a lobbyist and disclose his client and his fees if he was compensated more than $1,000 in a calendar quarter for lobbying Texas officials. Reed was reportedly paid many times that amount. Failure to register is a Class A misdemeanor and can bring a civil fine of up to three times the amount of unreported compensation.

Let's see, $4.2 million times three...carry the one...that's...well, a shitload more money than Ralph's gonna want to part with, that's for sure.

6. the best part of all this
is that Dobson is right there with him. They're both neck deep into this mess and my guess is that they're both going to be indicted.

That fool Cornyn may skate, but I doubt he'll get away clean enough to be reelected.

8. Ralph Reed: Plagirist who hated Mohandas Gandhi
Edited on Thu Dec-01-05 06:27 PM by IanDB1
Plagiarism incident

On April 14, 1983, Reed wrote a column for The Red and Black student newspaper attacking the late Mohandas K. Gandhi of India. Entitled "Gandhi: Ninny of the 20th Century," Reed denounced the 1983 motion picture Gandhi for its favorable treatment of the life of the pacifist leader of the Indian independence movement. A graduate student complained to the editor of The Red and Black that Reed had plagiarized a Commentary article by film reviewer Richard Grenier. After an investigation, Reed was fired from the paper. Reed wrote a final column acknowledging his failure to cite sources but accusing the graduate student who complained of "the most shocking, profane form of personal attack I can imagine." (Nina J. Easton, Gang of Five: Leaders at the Center of the Conservative Crusade, page 130-31)

9. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy...
Hope this will ruin his chance of winning the lt. governor position in Georgia. I hope he wins the nomination for the GOP so he can be beaten by a Democrat. Remember, this turkey was trying to claim that he didn't know that the bribe money from the tribes was from gambling. Maybe he thought that they were making money selling tomahawks to the Atlanta Brave fans. That is like thinking that money from the Italian Mob was from their olive oil business.
