Dick Van Patten eats dog food
Actor lends name to dog food formula

Thursday, December 1, 2005; Posted: 8:44 a.m. EST (13:44 GMT)

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- For "Eight Is Enough" patriarch Dick Van Patten, some dog food is good enough to eat.

Van Patten is lending his name and likeness to a new dog food formula that claims to be indistinguishable from a home-cooked meal for humans.

To prove his point, he recently sampled the "Irish stew" recipe at a media luncheon.

"Not too bad," the 76-year-old actor said before offering a bite to his canine dining companion.

1. Gram for gram, some dog food costs more than some human food.
Only to be expected, I suppose, people will sell what people will buy.

10. Yeah and heating your home in the winter is very bad for you.
You could also probably do without those meds.

Here's a nice Ice Floe for you....have a seat.... the polar bears will be along shortly.

11. True story
One day my mom's friend came by the house and while my mom was in another room doing something, she decided to go to frig and help herself to something to eat. D saw a small stainless steel bowl with some food in it and decided to try that. When my mom came back in, D was raving about the Swedish meatballs that she had made. Well, my mother has never made a Swedish meatball in her life. Low and behold, D was eating the dogs leftover Alpo. We teased D for the rest of her life about that one.
