How Glib To Commit Men To Endless Combat When He Ran From That Call.
Edited on Thu Dec-01-05 09:53 AM by The Whiskey Priest
His slick-cover 34 page strategy, his speechifying, his jingoism may comfort the warrior wannabes, but it strikes an ice cold dagger into the morale of those who have faced the repeated stress of probable death, or worse horrendous disabling injury. His pig-headed commitment to repeated tours of combat comes easy for him; for he does not know the terror of even one day of walking a land where someone wants to tear your limbs--your life--from you.

For those caught now in maws of the military from which there is no escape, let us say a prayer. They are being sent forth by a fool and coward. He was a coward at the time of Vietnam, he has been a coward for five years hiding from the American people through hand-picked crowds at propaganda speeches and he is a coward today because he cannot admit he was a liar and a fool to launch the Iraq war.

He tries to sell the dream of staying to defeat terrorism though rivers of our warrior’s blood flow. It is a fool’s dream for even if every Iraqi were killed there would still be terrorists. The terrorist lives in the shadows of Hamburg, Bristow, Madrid, and Detroit, any of the cities, towns, villages of the earth………they will only be on the battlefields of Iraq by accident. So our military is being destroyed for a fool’s dream.

He does not make us safer, stronger or more resolute. He makes us vulnerable through stupidity, he makes us weaker by squandering our national assets and he makes us irresolute by repeatedly selling, like some street corner huckstering conman, a tarnished product--the Iraq War.

1. It probably makes him feel like a man....
But if he really saw combat, he would probably be hiding in a corner and sniveling like a little boy. Meanwhile, he sends young men and women to horrors that I cannot even imagine...or their death.

Damn him.
