Ted Rall cartoon from last week

I have mixed feelings about his work sometimes. He says his work is inspired by being bullied pretty bad during high school. I remember his Pat Tillman cartoon (Tillman turned out to be a huge leftie). He seems to be the only person who goes after the troops themselves.

2. If I were feeling charitable, I'd say he's commenting on PTSD

but really, I'm vaguely apalled. I heard him speak on Central Asia a few weeks ago, and he was concise, coherent, understandable - like listening to a wonkish uncle. And then he goes for the throat here, at something that isn't, to my mind, the main problem. I don't know.

We need him.

Go look at some of his 'toons that outraged some a couple of years back and now they look tame, since it has become more obvious how things have turned back.

It's pretty low to hit soldiers who got screwed up by the war....but we really do need to face what this country is putting its soldiers through....for NOTHING

Not very many of them. It's terrible that it happened, and even more terrible that it is condoned by the misadministration but the vast majority of our military does not engage in these activities. Rall consistently portrays ALL of our soldiers as bloodthirsty monsters. Don't see a pattern? I suggest you check out his comics at rall.com

Rall is a caracature of a liberal. We are attacked by Republicans for hating the troops, when most of us hate the war and the assholes that got us into it. Rall actually seems to hate the troops and denigrate them whenever possible. It makes me wonder if he is actually a conservative trying to make our side look bad.

War veterans do not need any more stereotyping than they already have to face. Mr. Rall is way over the line with this one.
