Edited on Sat Nov-26-05 04:33 PM by ...of J.Temperance
Of sound a bit like me. There's things that I'm Liberal on, nearly ALL social issues...then there's things that I'm conservative on...NOTE that's with a small "c", which are a FEW social issues and some economic issues.

Heck I LOVE those little icons, they're so cute :bounce:

I'll give you a regular party icon, complete with a hat

On Edit: A politician that I met last year described me as "the perfect Centrist", and I was very proud of that. In fact I had a celebration afterwards involving some Stella Artois :)

21. Well I voted left
but am/was a 'c' on economic issues. Problem is they went and moved the middle on us so that makes me left. I guess maybe being a 'c' always included the military bugdet too so maybe I was always to the left. Don't really know anymore.

I regard the presumption in the poll as offensive.

POST, haha. Yup, I'm so far to the left I can hear the kook right faintly grumbling. But ya gotta listen hard. For now. Remember, the Unibomber (far left) and Tim McVeigh (far right), actually found alot of common ground in prison. So the story goes. But McVeigh was a coward. The least he coulda did was blow up with his own bomb.

14. the next candidates for demos are not the ones now running
I don't have any leanings to vote for Biden, Clinton, Kerry, Edwards. I don't want anyone who caters to Israel. Definitely not Lieberman. I want someone who will admit to a mistake "absolutely" like Murtha did last week. I don't want anyone who is a dual citizen either. I want a real truth seeker, like Waxman or Conyers.

In my opinion John Edwards or Wesley Clark, both are firebreathers. I do have Mark Warner in my candidates too, but I've not heard him do much talking, so I can't say if he's a firebreather.

But I like Edwards, Clark and Warner.

That's my ticket, Edwards/Clark or Clark/Edwards...or Edwards/Warner and Clark for Secretary of State...considering he can't be Secretary of Defense until 10 years after he's left the military.

I consider myself a Populist Centrist, I'm a Centrist with a strong Populist streak.

Ford Jr. is a doll, and we need to keep our eyes on him.

28. which democratic party?
definitely to the left of the Indiana democratic party. Smack dab in the middle of the California democratic party (where I lived in the nineties), was in the middle of the early nineties urban democratic party in Michigan - and was to the left of the Virginia democratic party of Gov Chuck Robb and Gerry Balisle when I lived there in the mid eighties.

As if there is a monolithic democratic party - everything is relative.

29. Hahahahahahah! This is one of those nu-democrats trick questions right?
Like there is a "center" to the party that is somehow central to the national politics.

Let's be honest. The middle has failed, look at 6 years of middlin national democratic non-initiative. They are unable to do much but apologize and run for cover.

Being an opposition requires being opposite. Sometimes REALLY opposite. Currently, being in the center of the democratic party means being part of the mainstream of the democratic base, and that mainstream is very well left of the depopulated national center.

Only the democratic politicians believe there is something like a swing vote in the center.

I believed the hype back then as I was not very political at the time. I consider myself a socialist economically and far-left on social matters. I know that the DP could never approach the platforms I do so I vote dems. I do not envision myself ever voting rep or indy.

I'm a Centrist Democrat...although I suppose I'd be a Center-Populist.

I don't agree with selling out to corporations, and there are many Centrists like me who don't agree with selling out to corporations either, not ALL Centrists are right-wing hustlers.

I do know what you're saying though, and those that you speak off, I wish they'd just leave the party and go where they belong, because they're giving PROPER Centrists a bad name.

48. I'm on the left side of the Democratic Party
Personally I think that the Democratic Party has become very Republican-lite in nature thanks to the DLC, and I find myself agreeing more with Liberal/Progressive Democrats on the issues. If the Democrat party continues to become Republican-lite in nature, I'm thinking about leaving it to rot, though I'm unsure of where to go party wise, because I like to call myself a Democrat, but I hate explaining that I don't support the ideas of many of them.

in the traditional sense is difficult to compare to current democrats, but in terms of social justice, progressives are farther left, other things like fiscal conservatism they're more centrists... hard to define us progries.
