Black Friday. The crowds were insane!!!
At the golf course. It took 6 and a half hours to play 15 holes. Then we had to quit because of darkness.

Anybody else have Black Friday horror stories?

4. I called my local Staples to try to locate a computer cable
They told me they couldn't help anyone over the phone because they were too busy with customers in the store. The whole point of the call was the make sure it was there before I had to brave the crowds at the mall. And their stupid website doesn't describe how many pins half of their cables have. Fuck 'em. I bought it from cablestogo.com for half of what I would've paid retail.

The local gas stations were filled to the brim all day. People were crazy trying to buy gas.

Other than that, I didn't even attempt to go out yesterday.

10. Yesterday was national buy nothing day
I'm tempted to keep it that way during the whole season and exchange gifts on January 6th The 12th day of Christmas which is the Feast of Epiphany. This is the way some Eastern Rite Churches do it!

5. You're a better man than I am
I wouldn't go near the fucking golf course on a holiday. I typically get up 1/2 hour before the crack o'dawn in order to get ahead of everybody. I can play a round in about 2-1/2 hours if I'm hitting fairways but it drives me fucking nuts to stand there and watch guys taking ten minutes to line up their putt so they can bogey or double bogey a hole.

9. I had to buy storage containers to freeze three gallons of turkey broth
Edited on Sat Nov-26-05 02:03 PM by leftofthedial
and the grocery store wa OUT of the good kind.

(I had planned ahead for once and bought some good plastic containers, but my BIL and sister used the ones I had bought for leftover turkey and dressing.)

It was horrible! Horrible! I had to run my shopping cart into a little old lady's midsection and then beat her senseless with her own walker to make sure I got the last package of quart containers. Serves her right for getting in my way.

16. Had to work
and it was a cold day yesterday. Horrible enough? Nah I guess not, as it paid quite well to be there. As far as shopping, why get up in the middle of the night to get something that will get stored away in the closet soon when one can sleep in?

It's absolutely beautiful here in Denver, 60's, windless and sunny. Perfect flying weather. Not for long though, we're supposed to get snow on Sunday.
