Poll question: Which is the HUGHEST Repuke scandal...which is the ONE?
Which is the HUGHEST Repuke scandal? Which is the ONE?

Which is the SINGLE most damaging scandal to the Repuke Party, the ONE that will do the most LASTING damage? In my opinion, ALL of the below choices are going to get their lids blown off in the next few years...but I'm wondering which one will be the KILLER blow.

6. Thanks.
Still haven't made up my mind.... Might go for Diebold. 'Cause the one thing people hate, above all, is finding their votes have been gypped. That's one thing everyone can relate to; it's not over-the-head politics or law, particularly.

3. Plame is the slippery slope...
...that will eventually bring the house down.
Forget about the indictment(s) that may or may not come. The cat is out of the bag on the obvious attampt to manipulate information.
This administration will never be trusted by the majority again.

I would have to say WATERGAtE. The others are big and getting bigger by the day but right now,Watergate tops them but PlameGate will probably beat it and so will the Abramoff scandal.

12. I deliberately left out 9/11...because
I don't think that WHATEVER happened that days and in the dyas leading up to it will ever be known...not for decades.

It's like the Kennedy Assassination, whatever the real truth will never come out.

Of course I'd LOVE to be wrong about this.

9. I voted for Diebold
because if they hadn't stolen the elections the republikkkans wouldn't have been in power, thus the other scandals couldn't have happened.

10. I said other
For me, the 2000 election fraud was the worst because it made all the rest possible. Maybe the levees would have had some repairs funded before this year, and, if it hadn't of made the difference in stopping the floods, at least we'd have known we tried. I'm sure we wouldn't have watched the horror it turned into under any other administration.

Y2k. Ended our way of life in a manner I didn't expect.

11. Other... it will be a pattern laid bare that is a confluence of scandals:
Abramoff/DeLay lays naked the pay-to-play nature of GOP politics;

The Reed/Dobson/Values Coalition guy interaction with the Abramoff/DeLay story... bares the commodification of individual church goers - where these folks make MILLIONS by convincing individuals through their pulpits to support policies that have nothing to do with religion (eg energy deregulation in Pa) or are directly in conflict with the Christian religion (eg all the votes that work to support big gambling interests)

The Cheney/Energy Policy Group (recently reemerging as a scandal)/ tax policies that favor big oil and energy even while regular folks start having to choose between heating and food, and see incomes severely curtailed due to gas costs... how this plays together - is as the public understands via Abramoff /DeLay the nexus between "we give you campaign dollars - and you vote big $$ back to us (that we inturn give a slivver back to you in campaign dollars) - even when you vote against the interests of those who elect/support you.

A third and fourth round of impending Corporate Implosions that due to continued funky accounting schemes ... are likely to reappear ala Enron, WorldCom etc. Which will make the public go... waaa? I thought we fixed that... followed by a detailed picture (ala the path cleared by the Abramoff/Delay/Cheney and Taft in Ohio paths for how bad legislation that enriches buddies gets passed) of how Oxley Sarbanes was defanged and gutted at the Administration (and congressional) levels.

In one to two years I predict that the stories will all conflate into a single tidalwave/hurricane that will bust apart the GOP as having sold out national interests to the highest bidder. The problem will be correcting not only all the serious damage done so far by these folks - but all the damage they will do in the meantime before the storm fully hits.

22. watching the bouncing ball is rather interesting these days
especially clear (so far) is that the Abramoff scandals have now intersected with the DeLay scandals.

Go back a little in time and tell me how different Barton's escapade with Weststar (energy co.) is? A little nosing around that one (though in the end he and DeLay had to take their little weststar provision out of a bill - one inserted after $$ was given to Barton (and probably DeLay - don't recall).

The hearings with the oil execs last week was interesting... suddenly Cheney's little Energy Commission reappeared...

DeLay and co start trials in December...

All that is missing from all of this headspinning related scandals, is one or two more big corporate implosions - and there is at least one, I believe, in the making.

14. I Don't Think It's Been Revealed
As difficult as it may seem, I don't think the GOP/NeoCon Conspiracy has hit bottom yet. While it is possible that the corporate world went mad, company by company, and dissolved into fraud, corruption, mutual extortion with politicians, war-mongering and theft of jobs, pensions, health care, and elections independently, there is more likely some initial impetus, one last final interlocking Directorate, whose existence has to be divined and displayed. This is bigger than Preston Bush's Hitler/Mussolini fascist takeover; Hillary called it a vast Right-Wing conspiracy (before she sold out, probably in disgust at the shallow stupidity of the average US citizen).

One thing is certain, the death throes of the BushCo cabal will drive this ultimate Directorate into a frenzy to survive. I think they are slowly realizing that they cannot win anytime in the near future. By their insane struggles we shall recognize them and remove the oxygen that feeds their inferno. And then they will die. If not, the rest of us surely will. And that's some 6 billion of us, and counting.
