When Republicans get all glossy eyed and remember the "good ol' days"
Remind them that those days were the days controlled by a Democratic Congress. Everything that Republicans love to hate about government has gotten worse since Republicans gained control in 1994. Is a decade long enough for Republicans to show us their stuff or are they not competent enough to do their work in that time frame? When is America going to "get better" because of Republican control? It is getting worse and worse and Republicans holler louder and louder but it just gets worse. Let's go back to the "good ol days" under Democratic Control but with equality for all a central guide.

1. They Just Refuse to Admit It
I have talked to these lump heads, and they are just too filled with this "Culture of Hate" to reach out to the otherside and admit their way isn't working. They would rather have us all die under their way of doing things. Truly evil and stupid!

2. they still find a way to blame democrats for anything that goes wrong
they control both houses of congress, the supreme court, and the white house. and yet, the country's woes are somehow due to a few democratic 'obstructionists'....

3. True... but The Political Cost Looks Like It's Going to Burn Them
And burn them badly. This gamble of theirs appears to be their last stand. They understand this, and are now trying like hell to stop the inevitable!

4. The "good ol' days" for republicans were bad fucking times for just
about everyone else. Those wonderful 1950's, with suburban lawns stretching for mile after neatly trimmed mile, were a facade. In truth, the American family, to borrow a phrase from Richard Meltzer, was a "nest of coiled snakes, a den of rabid wolverines."

While a bunch of white guys got to act like king of the hill, their wives were being held down to unfulfilling traditional roles, getting raped and not reporting it, getting divorced at a higher rate than at current times (look it up); blacks were chained in American Apartheid; gay people were getting killed, beaten, etc. for failing to stay in the closet, and in the cities, all was chaos. There was prosperity for those lucky enough to be born white and male, but for the remaining millions, life was a shit sandwich.

Maybe it might feel good for dickwipes like G. Gordon Liddy and his ilk to wax rhapsodic about this lost golden age when toadies jumped when a honky said "frog," but it never hurts to walk a mile in one of those toadies' webbed foots.

6. A "nest of coiled snakes, a den of rabid wolverines"
... from the 1950s nuclear family to the 2005 Grand Old Culture of Corruption Party, the Republican Party of Jack Abramoff, Tom DeLay, Scooter Libby and Richard Cheney.
