2. Do you remember the nosedive Bush was in when you left?
He hasn't pulled out of it yet.

He's back at the ranch now, resting after doin' all that leadershippin' in Asia.

But Abramoff hasn't gone away.
Pat Fitzgerald hasn't gone away (although it's quiet in that quarter for now)

Oh, and his plans to bomb our ally's capitol city have been made public, and it seems like there are several people who aren't too happy about that.

On the bright side, his crotch wasn't attacked by a turkey this year, nor did he serve a rubber turkey to the troops.

9. Whatever city Al Jazzeera headquarters are located in Qatar.
He was pissed enough that Toni Blair had to talk him down to stop it from happening. Al Jazeera satellite offices in Afghanistan and Iraq were hit, however.

10. Qatar
He wanted to bomb the headquarters building of al Jazeera, because he considers them part of al Qaeda. This was all contained in a top secret British memo detailing a meeting with Blair and Bush. Apparently Blair talked him down from the ledge, explaining helpfully that it would be bad to bomb an ally.

Now everyone wants to know the exact text of the memo, but Blair has threatened to arrest anyone who leaks it and charge them under the Official Secrets Act (I believe that's what it's called anyway).

The British public seems kind of angry about this, as do several politicians. And as you might guess, no one in Qatar is too thrilled with the whole thing.

As far as I know, the WH's only response has been to say that answering such allegations is beneath them, or words to that effect. Note, they didn't deny the story.

12. forgot the backdrop to the story
All of this was happening while we were bombing the hell out of Fallujah. Al Jazeera had reporters inside, showing dead civilians and so on. The idiot king was incensed by this. Now I'm not saying that the al Jazeera reporting in Fallujah had anything to do with bombing Qatar....wait, yes I am. Nevermind.

15. plus we will someday come to know that the ijotsmirk felt the same
way about Sgrena (the Italian journalist who ALSO knew about Fallujah and white phosphorous)whose car, carrying her and SISMI negotiator-hero, was "accidentally" shot 300 times on their way to the Bagdad airport during her "rescue" ...

oh, so many dots and connections, so little truth!

17. I hope you're right; I hope that does come out
It's almost absurd to argue the point that it wasn't an assasination attempt. Sometimes a thing is exactly what it looks like.
