Have they voted on Murtha's proposal yet?
They voted on the GOPs shame troop withdraw but have they voted on Murtha's proposal? Does Murtha's proposal have cosponsors?

3. You mean, our Corporate sponsored representatives?
They're running around trying to figure out how they "feel" about it first.

4. It is H.J.RES.73, it has not been voted on yet.

These things take awhile, even the most popular ones do. This is NOT the most popular.
The best way to keep up with the bill's status is to go to
http://thomas.loc.gov and type in the " H.J.RES.73 " (without quotes). It currently has a measly 13 co-sponsors. It is still very early in the game, but i don't expect it to get over 50.

It's not like the Congress (or even just the Dems) will side with 80% of the Iraqi people.

It will not be voted on for weeks. First in Committee. I doubt it gets out of committee or ever gets to the full House. don't expect Hastert or Pelosi to fight for that.

5. I could be wrong,
Edited on Sat Nov-26-05 02:44 AM by ashling
but the way I understood it, they amended his resolution to change it into their own so that they could vote it down. If this is the case (and I could be wrong) they are technically (although only partially) right in saying that they voted down Murtha's resolution. They voted down Murtha's resolution as amended

so, they voted for it before the voted against it

Admittedly, I could be entirely wrong as to their procedural shenanigans
However, if this is the case, I think the resolution would have to be reintroduced.

The Republicans are all such pieces of Schmidt
