Hey, it took 10 years for Vietnam to be saved from Communism.
Ten years from Johnson's buildup to victory over Communism
in 1975. Ten years to save Southeast Asia from the Communist
dominoes. Ten years for Vietnamization to succeed. What if
we had pulled out in 1965? Let's have the decency to give
ourselves at least ten years in Iraq for Iraqization and to keep
the Islamic dominoes from falling in the Middle East. We'll
be glad we did.

1. The Gulf of Tonkin incident was easy enough to fake.
News traveled a lot slower back then. Bush merely relied on America's racist tendencies, 9-11 + Iraq = What the hell? They're all brown people.

5. Last time I looked, Viet Nam was still a communist state. What am I
missing here? Not only a communist state, but one with normalized relations with the US!

8. Hello Brain Dead.....
Remember this name....Wadestock.

Read my posts.

I don't come here often....

But when I see such detachments from reality like this...

Well...

1. Desert Storm could have been politically resolved, expect Bush I decided it was time to "draw a line in the sand"....and pulverize a nation that the Saudi's suddenly thought might be a problem. End result, over 100,000 innocent people dead.
2. During 10 years of inspections more weapons were destroyed than the entire Desert Storm campaign...taking away Saddam's ability to deploy any weapons of any significance.
3. After Bushco. "Regime Change" campaign, a total of at least another 100,000 innocent people have been killed in Iraq.
4. Due to Bushco. dehumanization of the enemy, etc etc...at least 40% of the public have deep routed hatred for America...and there is growing stress that America is in fact an occupying force due to construction of 12 Army bases there, etc etc.

There are many experts that have come forth and will continue to come forth that will point out the obvious.
If you are sick enough to believe that a country can come in and surgically remove a ruling party.....and then expect that the country will rally behind the occupying force...

Well....

You better make PRIORITY #1 the safety...
And the security ....
Of the PEOPLE.

After the first 3 hours of this flawed REGIME CHANGE...
The only thing that was protected.
Was the oil fields.

9. I know. It's difficult to swallow the facts after the loss of 58,000 US
soldiers. But the sad, sad truth breaks your heart. And if anyone thinks that fighting a war on terrorism makes any sense at all they need their head examined.

13. You need to add the little "sarcasm" smiley to your remarks,
otherwise people might think you're serious.

You ARE kidding, I hope?

'Cause VietNam is a unified Communist state. Saigon was re-named Ho Chi Min City.

if only we applied any of these policies to latin america... i mean, look at how they've faired without any of our fair-handed, wise guidance? truly, great white father of the north should be listened to, for he does know best!
