Michael Brown HAS NO SHAME. He's
moving back to CO and starting a firm to educate people on how to focus on preparedness in emergencies. :wtf: Would you hire this man?
Just heard on NBC.

3. There is no such thing as bad publicity.
No wonder they call these people actors or players of the game. Life is just a game to some.

4. Please tell me that this is some kind of a joke...
What's he going to educate people on?

Where to go for a good dinner in the aftermath of a Category 4 hurricane or how to become a fashion plate?

6. He's not going to tell "people" how to do anything
No "person" with any conscience would hire the incompetent scum. Instead, his consulting firm will almost assuredly get lots of lucrative contracts from various governmental agencies, and those will likely come with strong recommendations from BushCo's Division of Cronyism and Graft.

22. Exactly.
That's what all these guys do. They set up their own personal sponges called "consulting agencies", and suck money directly out of the treasury.

7. He may have no shame, but
he also won't have any customers. How could anyone justify hiring the greatest incompetent in the country to advise on emergency preparedness? Oh, now I get it--it's to prepare for the Rapture!

10. The story stated he had some clients already lined up.
I think Atman's post above explains it; cronyism at work once again.

16. Then you must not have figured it out like dems in congress
The whole game that is unfolding here is that rethugs decided a while back that when they get into power, they will implement their plans and impose their goals regardless of what everyone else says - ie they will create new realities that will make history, and while the rest of the country is occupied figuring out what their actions amount to, they (the rethugs) will go ahead to create new realities. The Supreme Court did it - intervened in the elections; Congress discarded all financial restraints to implemented reckless tax giveaways; *co disregarded all reasons and is butchering the environment; *co disregarded the UN and the world to wage the Iraq war; *co disregarded the world on climate change issues; *co disregarded the world on the Geneva convention and p.o.w. issues; and on and on.
To him and the rethugs who are his clients, the money to be shifted over to him is part of the larger purse - the US treasury. It will be repaid to his clients either directly - via no-bid contracts and other form of cronyism, or tax cuts or straight forward contributions from their already overflowing stash of stolen money from Iraq and maybe Katrina fund. So it is no surprise that he already has clients.

11. That makes sense.
He's got connections, and a lot of upper level management sees his type of mishandling as "he already knows the pitfalls and risks, and can manage from experience on how to avoid them."

Personally, I think he's pond scum.

or maybe it was the ass.

Yep, this is where all the infamous wash up. Ken Lay is here too. It's a great place to hide out. Ask Butch and Sundance.

showing people how to take care of stupid trivial unimportant shit like where to eat dinner and how certain clothes look on you while everything is falling apart around you and people are dying. He'd be real good at that!

27. An idea for Mardi Gras
I think this is better than the boeuf gras.

In front of every parade, have an effigy of Brown either tired to a rail carried by a couple of people or or stocks.

Encourage people to throw stuff.

28. I think con-men make a point of not having any shame.
In fact i think it's a prerequisite for con-men not to have shame.
I for one am not surprised.

If anyone thinks FEMA to is a matter of incompetence, i'd like to point out that for the time being we're holding the short end of the straw while they're doing fine.
I think that's due to their competence as con-artists. Which isn't a compliment, just an observation.
