6. MSNBC has also mentioned it several times
Even a joke about bombing civilians isn't funny. Try it at an airport and see what happens!

Only we know GWB wasn't joking. Remember what started the insurgency in a big way - when they shut down al-Sadr's paper (the young cleric).

where Al-Jazeera was broadcasting from and they killed one of their reporters? Bush doesn't like Al-Jazeera or Reuters.

15. UK civil servant arrested and charged for leaking that document!! >>>>>
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10153489/

LONDON - A civil servant has been charged under Britain’s Official Secrets Act for allegedly leaking a government memo that a newspaper said Tuesday suggested that Prime Minister Tony Blair persuaded President Bush not to bomb the Arab satellite station Al-Jazeera.

The Daily Mirror reported that Bush spoke of targeting Al-Jazeera’s headquarters in Doha, Qatar, when he met Blair at the White House on April 16, 2004. The Bush administration has regularly accused Al-Jazeera of being nothing more than a mouthpiece for anti-American sentiments.

The Daily Mirror attributed its information to unidentified sources. One source, said to be in the government, was quoted as saying that the alleged threat was “humorous, not serious,” but the newspaper quoted another source as saying that “Bush was deadly serious, as was Blair.”

19. Eason Jordan was right
Remember he was let go because he was overheard at a private party saying that people were suspicious that reporters were being targeted in Iraq by US troops. Wasn't he a CNN producer?

An Al Jazeera and Spanish reporter were killed in the Palestine Hotel in the beginning of the war. While Americans heard little about this, Spain has never forgotten it.

I also remember Al Jazeera's and, I think, the BBC's offices in Afghanistan being bombed.

Then there was the Knight Ridder reporter who was killed, and the near death of the Italian reporter recently.

This is an issue that has been boiling over in other countries for a long time, as so many reporters have died in this war.

It's interesting also that Rolling Stone published its article on the Rendon Group this week, where they admit to 'managing' the news.

If this turns out to be true, it is a crime. I also remember reading that over 19 Iraqi journalists have been killed over there.

And there was the time when Iraqi jouranlists walked out on Colin Powell protesting the deaths of their journalists.

Maybe the press is a little peeved at last and that's why they are covering this story. If the press cannot report on a war, that is wrong ~
