Edited on Tue Nov-22-05 12:54 PM by HypnoToad
A simple enough question, surely?

4. Fascinating. Why do you suggest BFEE?
They would want somebody stable in the WH. (circa 1981) Everybody loved reagan, no matter what filthy act he committed - and he committed many during his 8 year tour. Do do him in would have been a mistake. Again, everybody loved him and let him get away with anything. And they did.

7. Here's an interesting coincidence
Can't vouch for its accuracy, only heard it second hand, but it still gives a little shiver of synchronicity.

Apparently Hinckley's father was a bigwig in an international religious organization (IIRC, World Council of Churches). On the day Reagan was shot, he was scheduled to have a lunch meeting with Bush 41. Needless to say, they canceled.

13. You're right about the religious organization, and I think I read that it
was a front for the CIA? Something weird, in that it implied brainwashing.

Hinckley's father also was a long time acquaintance of Hinkley, and he started an oil Co. in West Texas when the B's lived there. IIRC, the oil Company was bankrupt or he owed back taxes or something during the time of Reagan's assasination attempt.

Bush 41's son (I think Neil) was to have dinner with Hinkcley's other son, within days of the attempt. This was completely avoided by the MSM, and was the basis of a book.

9. Not staged, but maybe planned by the BFEE. The Hinckley Family

connections to the Bushies, Hinckley's father and his oil company failure, His previous support of Poppa B*, and the whole business of Catcher in the Rye. Why would copies of this book be involved in both Lennon's death and Reagan's assasination attempt? Did you know that Bush Sr. quoted Catcher in the Rye as one of his all time favorite books? I've wondered if it is not some sort of a CIA code of some sort.

11. Nah.
Anyone else here ever seen this great movie called "The Day Reagan Was Shot"? It basically details all the flubbed, screwball crap that was going on behind the scenes.

One of my favorite scenes is when the NSC is meeting right after Reagan was shot. Haig and Weinberger are arguing over Weinberger's meeting with the military command, and who's in charge of running the place in the absence of the POTUS and VPOTUS.

Weinberger: Fine! You handle crisis management. I'll handle defense.

Haig: I can't do anything until I know whether you've raised the DEFCON!

Weinberger: I've done nothing of the kind. I simply said that in light of the day's events, we should, so that they don't get any ideas, highten our readiness.

Haig: Great! You've raised the DEFCON. You do know what a DEFCON is, don't you Cap? I mean, I know you're new at this job...

12. No. The Reaper actually got pretty close to St. Ronnie...
And closer even to James Brady. Most news accounts state that six shots were fired, hitting four different people. The one that entered Reagan apparently ricocheted off the limo.

Too many eyewitnesses, and too many bullets whizzing around to be scripted.
