Kennedy's murder and 9-11- two polarizing and defining moments
i was 12 when kennedy was murdered by our own government, and it affected me deeply, as did nine eleven. these events have shaped us like no others. let's never forget. sometimes our government does terrible things and then tells us lies about it.

1. And to think that they may have both been perpetrated by the same group
of people is mind-boggling. A group of people forever fixated on changing the world to their way, for their profit, for their control, and citizens be damned.

3. But we always forget...and there are always defining moments.
Before this was WW2 and Pearl Harbor...before that we had the Great Depression...before that the Civil War...

We always forget. And it always happens again. This isn't meant to be fatalistic. But "it is the doom of men that they forget." (name that quote).

You are spot on btw...not just our government...but I fear any government does terrible things and thrives on lies. This happens whenever you elevate others to positions which become GREATER than you. As soon as you institute a hierarchy you start a system of corruption. I'm convinced that we cannot have great leaders without having great villans as a result.

I'm not sure what a viable alternative is though...other then to periodically have what Jefferson suggested.
