1. I turned it off.
Leno seemed to be unable to find a topic besides "What are you doing Thanksgiving?"
So I'm glad to hear the interview turned for the better.

2. Caught the last few minutes.... awesome as ever, crowd loved it.
The man has more integrity and moral fiber in the tip of his right little finger than Cheney and his minions combined.

One problem, though; Ex-navy veteran Carter probably DOESN'T own a 10 mpg SUV and DOESN'T have a yellow magnet on the back of it, so how could he POSSIBLY support the troops like 5-deferment Cheney does????

:sarcasm:

3. yeah, I just watched his segment.....
I didn't know he was on but flipped thru the channels and he laid it all out!

He said the U.S. policies have changed from all presidents prior. He says we torture prisoners and it is approved by our government.

He said high administration officials wanted to invade Iraq even before the supreme court said Bush was elected.

He said he, Jay, we all were misled into the war.

He was on a roll. Spoke clear and got applause. He is articulate and is out front now. Man this was great!

12. That's great to hear!
Way to go, President Carter!!!

Christians like Jimmy Carter give me hope. Sometimes I despair and think that all Christians are like the ones I've known. It's sad when you see "good" people misled so easily because they're taught to never question authority. I wonder, then, if these "good" people really are good. How can a "good" person still support Bush?

It makes me confused and very sad.

It is discouraging at times.

People are suffering because of these so called "good" people.

4. That was awesome!!! He said it so well, and the audience was
eating it up. Carter was very careful not to bash Bush directly...but damned if that wasn't the most articulate indictment of the EVIL UN-AMERICAN values of these gaddamned fucking quasi-fascist ASSHOLES in the White House I've heard yet.
"Our Endangered Values" is right--Bush and his cabal have undermined the very best of our principles and values right down the line.
Carter also talked about religious AND political fundamentalism--we're all right and you're all wrong--which I took as a slap at not only Bush, but the vile right-wing slime machine of Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, and all the other would-be Himmlers out there.

GO JIMMY GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never been more proud to be from Georgia.

5. His son jack Carter
is on a "listening tour" of Northern Nevada considering a run for the Senate seat now held by Ensign. He will be at our luncheon on the 15th of Dec. Saw his mom former First Lady Rosalyn Carter about a month ago in Sparks, NV

16. At the dedication of the Clinton library...
... it was raining, and I remember seeing Jimmy Carter holding an umbrella over Rosalyn's head the whole time, and when they reached their seats he used his coat sleeve to brush the rain off of her chair... So sweet.

Meanwhile, Chimpy had Pickles holding the umbrella over HIS head, and he adjusted her arm at one point when it wasn't protecting him sufficiently.

That just spoke volumes.

17. that really does speak volumes
Is it really true that * had his wife holding an umbrella over his head? I mean, I can certainly believe it--I just can't believe he'd be that way in public.

Let Jimmy make all of his points, didn't interrupt him.

Jimmy did a great job.

14. He hit the ball out of the park!
He was strong and forceful and pulled no punches...that our country has been moving in the wrong direction...hammered it home against preemptive war, torture. He said that people high up in the administration had decided the U.S. should go into Iraq BEFORE the President was "elected," then he corrected that statement with before the President was "chosen by the Supreme Court." Makes me proud to be a democrat. Give 'em hell, Jimmy!

18. Truly a good man
My 84 yr old mother in TN had the chance to attend his Sunday school class recently. What an opportunity. He and Rosalyn take their turns doing chores at the church like everyone else....cutting the grass, dusting, things like that. she was really impressed. I do have a great shot of her standing outside the bus getting ready to be checked by the Secret Service though....lol

Since it was happening right then...I put it in Late Breaking so that people would catch the end of the interview.
