Thanks to DU for informing me about Fair Trade Coffee and Tea
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 06:15 PM by Nickster
I like to have a cup of tea in the evening and I was shopping at World Market last night. I came across a whole line of Fair Trade flavored tea. http://www.republicoftea.com/index.asp I'm normally a simple Lipton man, but this is quite tasty stuff. I had to explain the Fair Trade concept to my wife so I could justify the extra couple of bucks for this stuff. I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't read about it hear. Thanks for keeping me informed gang!

I guess I'm really becoming a Liberal now.:-)

Doh!Corrected the name. I just got done discussing CAFTA with someone so I still had that on my mind.

4. Their Earl Grey is the best
Whole Foods sells their tea in bulk so it's less expensive. Several other companies sell fair trade tea, also.

5. Enlighten me, please. When I buy tea, I almost always buy Twinings.
I love their Darjeeling, Orange Pekoke, and Irish Breakfast teas. Is Twinings Fair Trade?

What are the differences between Fair Trade and non Fair Trade teas?

wages that aren't slave labor for their products and they receive money for their communities. It's well worth looking into.

Here's the long story.

Doesn't look like Twinings is Fair Trade, here's their statement.
