Wacky Rethug from Iowa posting in local Fl paper forum.....WTF
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 02:29 PM by Fla Dem
IN MY OPINION THE DEMOCRATS ARE REALLY WANTING TO CUT AND RUN FROM THE IRAQ WAR, WHICH I MIGHT ADD IS REALLY A WAR AGAINST THE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO KILL US ALL. WHAT KINDA BRAVERY IS THIS I ASK. IT SEEMS TO ME THE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY ARE GETTING MORE CHICKEN EVERY YEAR.MAYBE WE NEED MORE WW-2 VETS AGAIN WHO WAS BRAVE AND LIKED THIER COUNTRY.WE ARE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE A MAN LIKE OUR CURRENT CAMMANDER IN CHIEF, AT LEAST HE HAS THE GOOD SENSE TO LET THE MILITARY DECIDE HOW TO FIGHT THIS WAR. FREEDOM DOES NOT COME BY US CHEAP, WE NEED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HISTORY IT SEEMS.

This is just so typical. But I have to wonder if they (some group of rethugs) place these knd of comments all over the country in local papers where they don't even live.

1. nothing unusual about this....

with the Internet, people can see news/opinion from all over the country and the world, and they will comment as the opportunities arise. My newspaper column runs in a small, local daily, but is immediately picked up by Google and Google News and I get letters and e-mail from all across the country. Many of these are also sent to my newspaper as letters to the editor. DU members often participate in polls conducted by newspapers/radio/tv far from where they live.

2. That paper has (or had) Ann Coulter as a regular columnist
Does that tell you anything?

PS - Everett, get your caps lock fixed.

10. Yes, there was quite a furor over that. But they also have Molly Irvin.
But what can I say, I live in a predominately red county and state. Trying to change that, but it's "hard work".

3. Maybe we need a cause that people can get behind
and, moreover, maybe we need some right wingers who actually will fight in a war they promote.

4. What's so funny about this post
is that the freeper assumes Bush is letting the military run things. He never has (via Rumsfeld), and that is one reason the whole thing has been a disaster.

I bet the WWII vets the guy is thinking of include John Wayne. He served as much time in the military as Dick Cheney, but is a big icon to the far right.

It is also, sadly, obvious from the post that the man views all Iraqis as "the enemy". Probably he thinks they caused 9/11--after all, one Muslim looks like another, right?:eyes:

8. So wrong
Its hard to know where to begin with this corn cob. He is right about one thing he needs to study history. I suggest he begin with the part about how Iraq posed zero threat to the US and had zero to do with 9/11.

I live in Iowa and I have no doubt that freepers and fundies use their church as centers for propaganda distribution. They are made of hatred and live on lies.

9. Yeah, I think you're right about the 'plant' idea ...
... although it's getting harder and harder to distinguish between the real thing and a 'plant'; i.e. the poor spelling, grammar and punctuation seems to be rife among all Repubs.

As for the content:
"WE ARE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE A MAN LIKE OUR CURRENT CAMMANDER IN CHIEF, AT LEAST HE HAS THE GOOD SENSE TO LET THE MILITARY DECIDE HOW TO FIGHT THIS WAR."

Yeah, I get his point. That's one consistent thing about the current "CAMMANDER" in chief. He let the 'military decide' how to fight the war in Viet Nam, too -- not him, personally, of course; just the REST of the military.

12. The military wants a new plan
They have for quite some time. They wanted a different plan before we went in. If the military had fought this war the way they really wanted to, our troops would be home by now.

Yes, I think there are Republican operatives who are paid to wander around the internet and post shit. And call in to CSpan too. Nobody can be as intentionally stupid as some of these people are.
