Watching Murtha last night:Smarter than 95% Republicans and most Dems
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 12:39 PM by Generator
I watched the guy. Clearly, to me, he is not a great scholar, he's no Kerry or Obama. He's an average guy...and he rambled on and on and this and that and you could tell his heart was in the right place. But this line stood out at me for it's simplicity and something that I think is completely the only conclusion that anyone that looks at Iraq honestly at this point could reach.

"The Iraq war cannot be won militarily, it can only be won politically."

I KNOW most of the military feels that way too. But instead we are lead by fools and devils who play games with the idea of honor and the idea of "winning" instead of the reality of life and death for the Iraqi's and our soldiers. And it will continue to go on.

If the average guy like Murtha can figure this out, and say it..why can't our best and brightest leaders? I never even heard of the guy until this week. And once again, we are lead by those we least expect.

4. Funny I'm feeling better about Dems
than I have in a year. But yeah, I'm disapointed in oh let's say..Kerry..whose ideas on Iraq are not realistic and will change nothing and sound good if everything he hoped for where to happen in Iraq and with Bush but never ever will. I'm sticking with reality types at this point. Wonks and dreamers and the intellectuals are not doing it for me. And anyway is Cindy Sheehan a Dem? I don't know..but without her I doubt we would even be having these discussions. I also am convinced that history doesn't change unless someone brave risks something. And Murtha risked. I salute the risk takers. The status quo is killing us.
