If Ohio Senator/ Marine Colonel Bubp doesn't believe in cutting & running

Why isn't he on his 2nd or 3rd tour of duty in Iraq?

There are 1000's of men and women who have been in Iraq for 2 - 3 years depending on how many tours they've done and since Bubp thinks he speaks for them, shouldn't he, at the least, be over there with them? I mean it's easy to write letters and make brave statements, when you've got a cushy job has a State Senator and a nice warm home to go back to every night.

3. They should remember Khe Sahn before making such absurd claims

Don't want to start any inner military conflict here but facts are facts. Marines stayed hunkered down for 73 days without seeing hardly any daylight and then just left the area. Army 1st Cav moved into surrounding area to provide for Marines retreat but never occupied Khe Sahn as a base. It was abandoned because someone "cut and ran" Though to put it in proper perspective no base was very permanent there. Most were easily abandoned but not because of enemy activity...Khe Sahn is not a pleasant memory for Marines....
