Has anybody see the MSM report last night's vote correctly?
In watching the TV news and reading the paper this morning I have not seen any report correctly tell what happened in the House.
Nobody is talking about how the Repukes took Murtha's well reasoned amendment and rewrote it with their sham, one sentence "Withdraw Now" bill.
They say how the Dems are calling it a political stunt, but do not explain why. It is infuriating!
Anybody seen any better reporting?

1. The Posts seems to be pretty accurate.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/18/AR2005111802896.html
Armed Services Committee Chairman Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) drafted a simpler resolution calling for an immediate withdrawal of troops, saying it was a fair interpretation of Murtha's intent.

It was past 10 p.m. when Murtha addressed a relatively subdued House. Hunter's resolution "is not what I envisioned" because it avoids a broader debate of the war, which "is not going as advertised," Murtha said. "The American people are way ahead of us" in wanting a strategy to bring the troops home, he added. "It's easy to sit in your air-conditioned offices and send them into battle."

5. Missed opportunity.
Democratic congressional representatives were too fearful of calling the Republicans' bluff. Now we're wringing our hands hoping the country is somehow made aware of the "back story" concerning the vote. If anyone thinks we avoided a Rove trap, then they are probably overthinking this.

7. MSNBC is spinning
They portrayed it as a battle won by the repubs after hours of debate and never mentioned the difference between Hunter's resolution and Murtha's:mad:
