Colonel Murtha served his country
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 08:03 PM by nadinbrzezinski
LT. JG John Kerry served in time of war

Marine Captain Cleeland lost three limbs in the field.

General Clark served his country with honor and integrity

Sergeant Gore

Commander McCain,

The list goes on, and on and on (McCain added for he was slimed for his military service too)

Yet they are the cowards?

remember people, those who are now calling COMBAT veterans traitors and cowards have never heard the sound of a round being fired in anger....

Will they run scared to their mommas when the winds they are sowing become the whirlwind they will harvest?

A cold shiver ran down my back as I heard a woman who has served zero days in uniform call a Marine Veteran a coward... this was the cold shiver that precedes a hot civil war... these are but the words of a party that is quickly pushing this country to a head... and I fear for my country... for soon we may have to fight beyond words.... will they run at the first sound of fire? Or will they actually fight?

4. Yes, but she echoed their sentiments, which means she doesn't
have a shred of integrity either. But then, we knew that.
I saw her prior to the recent election, and she was all about repuke talking points.

14. It is her though
She is going on with it and she didn't have to say those things but she did and she should be ashamed.

3. I think they will run
I heard that woman call Murtha a coward and also the reaction. The comments were stricken from the record.

7. well she didn't exactly
call him a coward. She just supposedly repeated the message that a supposedly concerned ex-Marine called her up and told her she had to give on the floor. So she has some weasel-room wiggle. This Budp (sp?) is apparently an active swiftboater and also a real MINO. See other threads. It was pretty f'ing funny when she had to go back and give her stupid "apology." Everybody knew she was full of it.

8. A Marine would not do that
once a marine always a Marine, and she was full of it

9. she's not a Marine and she didn't say that Murtha was a coward
What she did (sneaky and underhanded and disgusting) was say that a supposedly concerned citizen, who was a Marine, called up her office and demanded that she give Murtha a message on the House floor about being a coward. But it turns out that this supposed concerned citizen is an active swiftboater and a MINO.

So SHE didn't say that, what she did was say that SOMEBODY ELSE told her to say that. Impact and effect is the same. I'm not arguing with anybody here--but it's important that we stick to the facts, which are damning enough without exaggeration or hyperbole.

11. Yes of course you did!
I'm not arguing with you about intent--my point was to stick to the facts instead of going into hyperbole.

12. It is not hyperbole when somebody who has never been
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 07:57 PM by nadinbrzezinski
in combat QUESTIONS the honor and integrity of a combat veteran...

And these are the facts... they are questioning COMBAT VETERANS and ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, they are sowing the kinds of winds that lead to whirlwinds...

21. the fact is
that she used another person's statements to obscure her attack--but yes, you are right (again and again) that the attack did occur and it is and was wrong.

BUT saying that SHE actually called Murtha a coward IS hyperbole and is factually wrong.

So--what I'm now wondering is--do you understand what I'm saying? Sticking to the facts that she used a disguised attack DOES NOT mean that she DID NOT wrongly attack him.

But it is still factually incorrect to say that she actually called him a coward.

22. I know what you are saying
Edited on Fri Nov-18-05 08:15 PM by nadinbrzezinski
and the fact remains she said what she said on the floor... SHE SAID IT, whether she chose to "use" somebody else's words or is imaterial to me, SHE SAID IT, she attacked... those words left her mouth, and that is not hyperbole... if you choose to see it as such, fine, we can agree to disagree.

17. And John McCain
I may not be a fan of his but that was the most rudest thing. Saying he didn't care about veterans and they started a whisper campaign about his mental health.
