...we've all heard the Russert story about when Libby called him in '03. When Libby tried to say he heard about Plame from Russert but Russert said that Libby just called him to complain about something he heard on Matthews' show.

I think part of the reason why Matthews was so pro-war at that time was because maybe he was trying to suck up to Libby.

if he's chosen to take this step it means a lot of other "uniform" guys have too.

What we get on TV is politically filtered news, of course. And most of the military "talking heads" we see don't have his cred.

I really think Murtha's statements are a strong message to those Republicans left who are interested in a rational control of the military that they're losing the reigns on American military actions.
