When his approval rating polls repeatedly in the 30's, doesn't this prove that a substantial amount of his REPUBLICAN voting base is "disapproving"?
This most divisive president has never courted support from Democrats, and aside from a brief period after 9/11, when he got a lot of support from Dems as a default where most presidents would have, it's been "screw you" to the rest of America and the world that doesn't vote with or think like the modern version of the Republican Party.
But he always had as much support from Republicans as he had disapproval from Demcrats.
For him to poll below 40 percent would mean that he would have virtually 100 percent disapproval from Dems, as he's pretty much always had, would have lost the huge majority of any independents REMAINING in this country, and also lost a not inconsiderable chunk of his Republican voting base.
Is this point ever brought up in stories about the polls? News media should be interviewing REPUBLICANS who are registering "disapproval" these days to see what they have to say.
