not to depress you but we can't forget that no matter how bad the polls look for the republicans, they still own the voting machines. there are now MORE diebold machines out there than there were in 04. while some states have made positive steps to demand a paper trail, and even some cases a mandatory audit, we are far from having secure elections. basically a handful of programmers at Diebold headquarters could change the election results and there would be no proof without a subpoena or court order to break into the machines.
we have 1 year until a very important election. we all know, if the dems take over the house and/or the senate, there will be impeachment hearings.
the republicans will do everything they can to stop this from happening. the first thing they will do is use their influence in the voting machine companies. we need to work between now and election 06, in every way we can, to create checks and balances that would catch election fraud should it occur.
