"I won't stand for the Swift Boating of Jack Murtha!"
"``I won't stand for the swift-boating of Jack Murtha,'' Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee in 2004, responded Friday. Also a Vietnam veteran, Kerry was dogged during the campaign by a group called the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth that challenged his war record.

``There is no sterner stuff than the backbone and courage that defines Jack Murtha's character and conscience,'' Kerry said.

For his part, Kerry has proposed a phased exit from Iraq, starting with the withdrawal of 20,000 troops after December elections in Iraq. A Kerry spokesman said ``he has his own plan'' when asked if Kerry agreed with immediate withdrawal.

1. Christ, here we go with "I have a plan" again ...
Just like Emmanuel ... "we'll have a plan when we need to".

:puke:

We need to be ONE party, with ONE plan and ONE voice.

Murtha and stay there. Obvisously he has the info he needs to make the descision he made. Are they so conceited that THEY want to be the one with the "PLAN"?

5. Sigh! No.
But it is possible that they each come up with an idea, put together a plan and then get together and hash out the good and bad of each idea.

In Kerry's case this will happen with an actual bill he submitted to Congress to try for withdrawal from IRaq in 12-15 months. If it's a bill, then it's open to hearings, debates and amendments from both Dems and Rethugs. It will be changed and go through a process that the Rethugs hope will make it go away and the Dems hope will make it better. Sigh! That's how it works.

Why is everyone viewed as being at each other's throats when they are not.

7. Because they do not speak with one voice
and they don't back each other up.

That's the GOP's strongest 'weapon' against the Dems, is that no matter how stupid whatever it is they're spouting is, they all spout the exact same thing, in unison, ad infinitum.

The Dems don't seem able to all get behind the same horse. Ever.

Now what you should do, Senator Kerry, is throw your half-ass plan for partial withdrawal out the window and join in behind Congressman Murtha for a complete withdrawal of our troops. Taking a handful of our troops out of Iraq would be like saying, hey, let's continue this idiotic mistake for some more years and more lives wasted.

John Murtha has stepped it up. Thank god for him. Now it's time to find out who else is courageous enough to back him 100% on this. It's time to walk the walk.
