To the dwindling #s of folks trying to believe bush didn't lie us into war
let's pretend he really believed the manipulated and cherry picked intelligence. So why are all the high level officials involved either still in office or promoted, or have retired and been given the highest medal of honor? With the exception of Doug Feith (underling to Wolfowitz, now head of the World Bank, and Rumsfeld - who is still in charge of the pentagon), who has retired, and to my knowledge has not yet been rewarded with an even higher prestige/profile administration job - everyone has been rewarded.

So if W really didn't know - and was righteous in his decision to go to war, undermanned and under equipped for a war vastly more expensive than (supposedly) he was told - why isn't he holding anyone accountable? Seems that he isn't disturbed by it at all?

That blind support for those giving him the information, and those carrying out his policies, makes it rather hard to hold him 'innocent' for all of the mistakes - including pulling resources away from the fight against the taliban and al qeada and the "hunt for Osama" - to go to war in Iraq.

Good luck with the rationalizing - I imagine it is getting harder and harder to do.

1. Clearly they're having a hard time rationalizing these days...

Just listening them call in to talk shows and CSPAN, clearly they're clutching at straws.
But intellect and reason have never been BushCo supporters' strong suits.

:dunce:

3. The naked desparation and rewriting of facts of the current bush/cheney
attacks - will tear more "supporters" away from the dwindling support for bushco and the war. They are making themselves look brutish, and worse appear to be attempting to do the same behavior that pushed us into the war in the first place - that reminiscent tone is going to convince some that because it is clear they are trying to manipulate now... that perhaps it is, heretofore to hard to accept, true that they manipulated us in the first place. Their current push is going to damage them even further.

OK it was all a terrible mistake.

Why are we still there nearly 3 years later then?

5. can you say "no exit strategy?" or "no plan for winning the peace?"
Oh wait - according to a group of GOP congressfolks - reminding the public of such clear facts... is aiding and abetting... wait for it... Osama.

Funny how they forgot about Osama for nearly four years (bush on the eve of the iraq war... stated that he no longer gave much thought to Osama) - until now. Funny how they invoke Osama into an argument to support the Iraq war - when it was the Iraq war that underminded the international legal/investigative and military actions undertaken after 911 against Osama and al qeada.

6. not geared towards us... but to those still clinging to that belief
just pulling together the obvious statements we can use to counter that belief, given daily there is more and more out in the public domain that should erode even the staunchest supporter's unquestioning belief in bushco (and that is the point, even if one can't get them to change the belief - getting them to begin to question it is a BIG thing as it further erodes unfailing/questioning following of all things spouted by the rw talking heads.)
