Ultra RW Christians expanding American Girl boycott: "indoctrinates girls"
Contact: Douglas R. Scott, president of Life Decisions International (LDI), 540-631-0380, ext. 22, ldi@fightpp.org

WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Boycotting American Girl products because the company supports Girls Inc.? American Girl is not alone in funding the rabidly pro-abortion group.

Douglas R. Scott, president of Life Decisions International (LDI), today blasted Time Warner for its "ongoing support of pro-abortion entities." Time Warner donated $600,000 to Girls Inc., a group the company characterized as "a national non-profit that inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold."

"Actually, Girls Inc. is a non-profit that indoctrinates girls so they become pro-abortion advocates," Scott said. "Considering its philosophy, one could reasonably predict that many of these 'strong, smart, and bold' girls will eventually end up lying on a table in front of an abortionist. And Girls Inc., along with the corporations that support it, will be largely responsible."

Time Warner, which appears on LDI's Boycott List due to its support of Planned Parenthood, has also supported the YWCA, which has taken a pro-abortion position.

"Groups that work with young people need to get out of the abortion-advocacy business," Scott said. He identified Girls Inc., YWCA, Camp Fire, Girl Scouts, and Outward Bound as nonprofits that either have a pro-abortion policy statement or have worked with groups that do.

"It's time for those who care about children to confront these groups and tell them they have a 'choice.' They can stop engaging in pro-abortion activity and working with pro-abortion groups or they can stop working with children," Scott said. "Adults need to stop using organizations that could be doing a lot of good to advance their personal agendas."

Time Warner Inc. owns companies such as The Cartoon Network, Hanna-Barbera, Looney Tunes, DC Comics, The WB, CNN, HBO, Cinemax, AOL, CompuServe, Warner Bros., several book publishing firms, and publishes many magazines, including BabyTalk, Elle, Entertainment Weekly, Fortune, In Style, Life, Marie Claire, Parenting, People, Soaplife, Sports Illustrated, Teen People, Time, TV & Satellite Week, and Woman.

For a complete list of companies and products owned by Time Warner Inc., along with contact information for the company, go to www.fightpp.org and click on this press release on the left side of the page.

Life Decisions International (LDI) is dedicated to challenging the Culture of Death, concentrating on exposing and fighting the agenda of Planned Parenthood. LDI's chief project is a boycott of corporations that fund the abortion-committing giant. To learn more about Planned Parenthood, please visit: http://www.fightpp.org/show.cfm?page=wrong

1. "Culture of Death?"
These people do nothing to dispel the stereotype of Christianity being a cult of humorless killjoys with a persecution complex.

3. If they care so much about children, why aren't they fighting
the republicans who are trying to cut the school lunch program and other resources for poor children?

God damn hypocrites. :grr:

4. Don't go dissin' the Girl Scouts on MY watch!
"It's time for those who care about children to confront these groups and tell them they have a choice."

CHOICE????!!!! Since when does that word have any meaning to these people?

I was a Brownie, an Intermediate, and then a Senior Girl Scout (ages 7 through 18). I don't remember anyone ever telling me about how to earn the coveted 'Abortion' badge.

Maybe I missed an important meeting somewhere along the way ...

6. I went all the way from Daisy Girl Scout to Cadet.
Why in the Name of God do RW people want to go after the Girl Scouts? We met in a church and sang hymns along with sewing teddy bears for charity.

5. They're spinning out of control. Talk about biting off more than you can
chew. Their incredible absolutism is their undoing.

10. Ok, when the go after the YWCA, that's too much
That was the only, repeat only source of affordable childcare in our neighborhood when I was little. I went there after school, and on days off from school when my mom had to work. These bastards need to get a clue.

11. Think there might be a little psychological projection going on here?
The fundies seem to be accusing most every mainstream youth-focused organization of "indoctrination". I wonder what they teach girls about abortion in their "private schools", the ones they want taxpayers to support with vouchers.

13. God...let them boycott everything. . .
When their members can no longer buy a half gallon of milk without crossing their religiously correct masters, maybe they'll start figuring out that these organizations are straight from looney tunes.
