This "the president feels betrayed" nonsense is nothing more than
Bush trying to distance himself from the very people he plotted with -- except his father.

I now look at this story as an effort to try to get the spin out there, and to get Chimpy off the hook.

7. Maybe it depends on what the meaning of "betrayed" is.

"Somebody in my government may have outed a secret service agent. I feel betrayed."

"My coffee's gotten cold. I feel betrayed."

"OOh, that shot came so close to the cup! I'm betrayed."

Why the huge long wait before playing the "Poor me, I've been betrayed!" card anyway?

you dumbass. The average person in America no longer buys your lies of consider your level of incompetence acceptable. They know you and your cronies have totally screwed us over and you and your party are doomed to defeat soon. Very, very soon.

The president feels betrayed?

Well, welcome to America, Mr. Bush -- now you know how the rest of the country feels since you took office.

8. I tend to agree,
though I think that the degree of narcissism that Bush displays would make it pretty likely that the old boy does feel betrayed by recent events and people close to him. I do not think he does "frustration" well. He will blame anyone for his problems.

However, you are correct that the White House is attempting to spin this to their advantage.

13. He's the living embodiment of sending a boy to do a man's job
I could care less if The Village Idiot feels "betrayed" or gets his feelings hurt. I'm more concerned with the fact that he's betrayed the American people - REPEATEDLY.

He answers to me, he's accountable to me, and his salary is paid with MY tax money (and I'm definitely not getting my money's worth, to put it extremely mildly). I want an ADULT in that job who can fathom the breadth and scope of what being Leader of the Free World is - not some spoiled, lying, delusional, hypocritical, megalomanical, self-centered recovering alcoholic (who may or may not be hitting the sauce again) whose only concern is whether or not he's being "betrayed".

I hate to paraphrase a movie quote here, but being President of the United States really is a serious job for serious people - not as a way for the idle rich to amuse themselves and wile away some free time.

and if that man is allowed an inch of wiggle room, he'll get away with it. He's not too stupid to know, he's not misled, he's not out of the loop.....Bush is guilty. Period.

23. *He* feels betrayed! What about US?
We were cheated out of our rightful President--twice. We've been f*cked over for five years and counting, our budgetary surplus has been turned into a deficit that our collective great-grandchildren will be paying off, we're being turned into a fascist theocratic state more and more each day--and HE feels betrayed?

24. I agree it's total spin designed to create sympathy for the President.
I was wondering why the Washington Times would run a piece so damaging to Bush. It became clear to me after seeing the guy who wrote it on Olbermann.

They're trying to portray Little Boots as a good man betrayed by those he put trust in--sort of like a modern day Ulysses S Grant. Grant was supremely talented as a general but a disaster as a politician.

This is not going to fly. Unlike Grant Bush IS a politician. More to the point, he's a nasty little piece of work who loves the down and dirty aspects of politics and disdains the hard work of understanding policy.

He's failed at everything he ever tried and been protected from the consequences of his actions by his father.

Maybe now Poppy and his pals are at last stepping in to control this monster they helped create. Unfortunately they may be too late.

We will all feeling the results of this pathetic faux cowboy's arrogance, stupidity and greed for years to come.
