Bush's current job approval rating stands at 34%

President Bush's positive job rating continues to fall, touching another new low for his presidency, the latest Harris Interactive poll finds.

Bush's current job approval rating stands at 34%, compared with a positive rating of 88% soon after 9/11, 50% at this time last year, and 40% in August.

And he's not alone. Cabinet members, Congressional leaders and both parties in Congress have also seen their ratings slip, with Democrats seeing one of the biggest dips in approval, the telephone poll of 1,011 U.S. adults shows.

1. He's a loser and a waste of time.
The country is worse off everyday that he's in office. It appears that more people are recognizing it.

2. that's funny. Where are the cable talking heads talking about a bounce?
Did we miss it?

Last time that the Bushistas tried their counterattack, it was with the nomination of scAlito. Talking heads called it a home run, a great move, and guaranteed to raise Bush's poll numbers - showing that Rove was back in charge and Bush was back in his rocking horse's saddle.

But, even the MSM must recognize the truth when it hits them in the face - like a huge fish from Sir M. Python. And these numbers show no sign of rising.

Hmmm. I wonder what Elliott Wave analysis will tell us about his polling. The short and long-term trends have been down since 9/11. A few minor bounces, as though it hit a floor, then pierced it. Any statisticians who have a handy dandy program to plug in the numbing numbers?

3. Drip, drip, drip, the long, slow erosion of support continues
Kinda like Chinese water torture, ain't it, Shrubya?

4. if the trend is slow, steady in one direction, it is much less likely to
change direction. The inertia behind a long trend is massive.

I suspect that the natural reaction of the shrubs will be to attack. But that old dog has no more teeth.

8. Now's the time for a progressive agenda being formalized.
I do think that a clear "wedge-issue" type agenda is required--health benefits, pension security and Medicare, targeting evil corporate executives: this is the stuff that will mobilize Democratic votes next year, and the foundation must be laid now.

9. Did we really think he could get away with this for ever?
One lie on top of another just does not go to well forever.
