Bush job approval falls to 34%
Bush job approval falls to 34%
by John in DC - 11/17/2005 12:32:00 AM

Watch out, she's gonna explode!

And look at the approval and disapproval numbers closely. Short of September 11 and then March 2003 (the invasion of Iraq), Bush's numbers have on average been dropping (with a few exceptions) since the day he took office in 2000. The more the public knows about George Bush, the more they dislike him - and that's been a trend for 5 years now.

1. When thoughtful human beings know stuff
its hard times for conservative republicans. They must depend on people who believe stuff and are easily manipulated. An educated and knowledgeable populace is the last thing republicans or radical christian clerics want.

11. Some aren't stupid. Some are trying to protect their profits.
They know where all the bodies are hidden on the gravy train.

6. So much for that "bounce"
Edited on Thu Nov-17-05 08:44 AM by hippiegranny
the press whores were predicting after his disaster of a Vet's Day speech. The bastard's in free fall! And nothing seems to be able to get in the way of it.

10. I Said Right Here 2 Days Ago, The Bounce Was Fiction
First of all, most people didn't even hear or read that speech. (I didn't hear much of it. I read it. I can't stand looking at that cretin.)

Secondly, as long as there are still kids dying in Iraq, as long as almost everyone knows someone who's been out of work for a long time, and as long as gasoline and heating bills are high, people will not give one whit about some stupid blustering speech.

9. Bush will go much lower than this
For I have consulted the Mighty Mighty Oracle Beans, and thus with My Usually Reliable Infallibility (TM), I have reckoned it. More reckoning to come for BushCo. To be sure.

12. "It's down, down, down the dark ladder...."
Cold blue steel out of money
One eye for the beat police
Sweet Fire calling
"You can't deny me
Now you know what you need"
Underneath the jungle gym
Hollow grey fire escape thief
Looking for sweet fire
Shadow of lady release

"Come with me
I know the way" she says
"It's down, down, down the dark ladder
Do you want to contact somebody first
Leave someone a letter
You can come now
Or you can come later"

A wristwatch, a ring, a downstairs screamer
Edgy-black cracks of the sky
"Pin cushion prick fix this poor bad dreamer"
"Money" cold shadows reply
Pawnshops crisscrossed and padlocked
Corridors spit on prayers and pleas
Sparks fly up from sweet fire
Black soot of lady release

"Come with me
I know the way" she says
"It's down, down, down the dark ladder
Do you want to contact somebody first
Does it really matter
If you come now
Or if you come on later?"

Red water in the bathroom sink
Fever and the scum brown bowl
Blue steel still begging
But it's indistinct
Someone's hi-fi drumming Jelly Roll
Concrete concentration camp
Bashing in veins for peace
Cold Blue Steel and Sweet Fire
Fall into Lady Release

"Come with me
I know the way" she says
"It's down, down, down the dark ladder
Do you want to contact somebody first
I mean what does it really matter
You're going to come now
Or you're going to come later"

Joni Mitchell's Cold Blue Steel and Sweet Fire

You know you're going down, Don't you Mr. Cheney?

13. George Bush is on a roll. Keep talking, George, you're doing fine.
The more you talk the worse the numbers get - for you, not us.
