Bush is a "Christian, Godly man!"....one year later
I wonder if the spell has worn off yet....

NILES -- Even before anyone knew President George W. Bush was coming to town, one store owner had created a unique tribute to the man. Visitors to Color Me Christian bookstore at Front and Main streets can see a life-size cardboard cutout of Bush attired in the full "armor of God," wearing "the helmet of salvation," the "breast plate of righteousness," and "the belt of truth" while carrying "the shield of faith" and "the sword of the spirit."

"I want the president to know that we're praying for him," owner Dana Hankins said. "I believe he wears the armor of God. He's a Christian, godly man.

"I want the president to know we're praying for him. Not only because we love him, but because he's the president. Any Christian should appreciate this whether they like him or not. We should all pray for our leaders. I personally like him, and I know other Christians who don't, but we should all pray for him."

Hankins said she's bothered by media comments making fun of Bush's faith, such as those made recently on "60 Minutes," but "it's to be expected. They don't understand," she said. "The belief in God has to be revealed to you from the spirit."

2. All evidence points toward Bushie being Satanic...posing as a Godly Guy
but producing counter productive results...

There is no overall Prosperity in the Land due to Bush... only his friends and contacts...the rest of us can go to Hell...confirmed by Katrina and Brownie....

3. I pray for our leaders too. Mainly that God will bestow upon them great
wisdom and understanding and they suddenly make choices completley the opposite of what they normally would where our policies are concerned.

So far, no dice.

4. Umm.....Just for clarification purposes here...
Bush is not a "Godly" man. Now, I don't pretend to know what is in his heart.

However, I do know that Godly men (or women) do not:

1. Start illegal wars based on lies

2. Steal elections

3. Balance the budget on the backs of the poor

4. Do absolutely nothing while people are literally drowning and dying from the worst natural disaster to ever hit this country

Call me crazy here!

6. I'm sure this woman prayed all the time for Bill Clinton
Of course, they never really prayed for Clinton in a way that would suggest that they wanted him to succeed. No, they "prayed" for Clinton by asking that he become an anti-gay, anti-abortion fundamentalist wacko, or they "prayed" that he would resign, or change his positions on issues.

9. I have run across people like this before and after the election. I don't
see any room in their little minds for such obscure concepts as reason.
They love to portray themselves and their godly hero as manning the barricades against the liberal, immoral hordes clad in their armor. If they only knew how they are being played by those they idolize just so they can stay in power and keep the country divided.

Sounded like my neck of the woods there for a minute.

Hell, it could be.

One guy still has a huge "W" in light bulbs lit up on his roof every night.

19. Exactly
Jesus warned about false prophets. Someone asked him how they will know and he said by the fruits of their labors. George has done more harm to this country than good. *sigh* :(

15. The local magic/costume shop
Is owned by a Bush-republican, and he sold cardboard cutouts of Bush. He put one in the mirror, and I went in one day and complimented him on his juxtaposition of Bush and other characters. He had placed him (not with hidden meaning unfortunately) next to the 3 Stooges.

When Halloween season started, it got "worse." The 3 Stooges were replaced with a big display coffin with Bush next to it.

I like visual irony.

18. It has with my Grandma
Edited on Tue Nov-15-05 12:54 AM by FreedomAngel82
I made a post about this on Saturday night. My Grandma was a Bush supporter up until recently. What changed? I don't know. But this weekend I was visiting with her and on Saturday night she confessed she was doubting Bush with all of his lying and she is even doubting his faith! She doesn't like liars and my Grandma is one of those really true Christian's like myself. She really did believe in Bush so you could tell in her eyes with her confession it was heartbreaking. She said the best president in her lifetime was Eisenhower (she's seventy). Just a few months ago she was a Bush apologist so I wonder what happened. She doesn't have the internet and only very basic cable and I don't think she watches much tv (just a few shows she likes) and I've never heard if she watches any rightwing tv. So who knows what changed. My mother, brother and I are all Christians and despise Bush and I despise his father too.
