Conservative Movement Reacts to Dean's appearance on MTP:

from www.oliverwillis.com

The conservative movement is reacting to Bush’s impotence with characteristic hysteria. Check out some of the reactions to Howard Dean on Meet The Press this morning from the GOP base on Free Republic:

HOWARD DEAN IS A DANGEROUS AND DEMENTED SOCIALIST CROOK UNPATRIOTIC UNAMERICAN LIAR, ARREST HIM NOW

W could issue an executive order to round up the seditious scum in the rat party and at least prevent the left from continuing to fight a second front against us at home.

This great man is deserving of nothing less than piano wire and a lamp post.

He ought to be arrested for sedition along with Reid, Durbin and Harkin.

Howard Dean is a Hitler emulator…He stinks of death camps, right through the TV screen

Glenn Reynolds would be proud.

3. They believe that any form......
of dissent is unpatriotic, just as in the days of Joseph McCarthy, the man who found Communists under every rock. They view McCarthy and themselves as heroes and all who would disagree with them as treasonous scum.
Obviously, freeps have not learned from history so they're doomed to repeat it again and again. They happen to be the most short sighted idiots on the planet and nothing they have to say ever approaches the truth.
If this is their reaction to Howard Dean then I'd say he's doing his job and doing it well. Situations like these tend to separate the true champions of Democracy from the idiotic pretenders. The freeps have shown themselves to be the chaff from this process, the narrow minded simple moths that are being drawn into the flame of blind nationalism.

5. Exactly!
I love it when they get in to a frenzy like this.. it means we have them on the defensive!

We already know the GOP is afraid of Dean from the primaries, this just proves it. I guess balancing the budget, lowering health care rates, and providing civil unions to gay couples *is* an extremist position in this Republican party though.. it's sad.

9. You got it!
These bottom feeders don't have a clue. They rally behind a corrupt and incompetent regime but when someone sensible stands up they want to knock him down or I should say "take him out". They should be arrested for terroristic threats.
:argh:

11. Communists under every rock?
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 01:41 PM by bumblebee1
I must have been lifting the wrong rocks. All I ever found under rocks are bugs, beetles even an occasional snake. I never found a communist under any rocks.

14. Not exactly.
They dissented constantly when Clinton was in office. They were loud and crazy then, and they are loud and crazy now.

8. Huh?
Dean didn't come across like a Hitler-wannabee to me. Neocons, on the other hand, fit the description perfectly. There was only one thing I disagreed with Dean on. Yes we don't have much power right now, but we still need to have some ideas. The Democrats definitely have an image problem in this area. Why would anyone vote for a party that is perceived as having no answers to the country's problems? We have elections next year. We need to have some ideas. The DLC is useless.

10. These are the mentally ill people that should concern you.
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 08:41 AM by Tandalayo_Scheisskop
The ones not getting treatment. The ones in treatment are, largely, no threat to you and yours. These ones walk the streets with these thoughts in their puddin' heads and will tell you that they are "normal"(whatever that is).

Sooner or later, due to a decided lack of impulse control, some of these will act out their fantasies and that's where the danger resides.

Sane folks don't tend to make comments like the above.

13. I hate to Godwin, but this is disturbingly Naziesque.
"W could issue an executive order to round up the seditious scum in the rat party and at least prevent the left from continuing to fight a second front against us at home.

This great man is deserving of nothing less than piano wire and a lamp post."

And then this schmuck has the gall to say...

"Howard Dean is a Hitler emulator…He stinks of death camps, right through the TV screen"

Is this where we are? That our political opponents are willing to have us rounded up and hung in the streets? These people truly terrify me.
