Dose anyone know which "Drug Treatment Center "Rush went into?
Edited on Tue Oct-14-03 09:09 PM by liberalnurse
Did he go to Hazelton or Betty Ford or S. Tuscon?

These programs are excellent. They will confront is lying ass well. No soft cushion for Rush. Boy, I'd like to be a fly on the wall in his group. Thoese group sessions will be explosive! The group gets to confront him too!

They will ultimately recommend he quit the show.

2. Thats why I want to know.....
Did he go to a sincere treatment center or is it one of thoseexcellerated programs?

Knowing where he went one can speculate the effectiveness of potiental recovery.

If he goes to court/trail, they will have to testify to his recovery. The above mentioned programs tell the truth.

5. According to what Barry McCaffree said on Hardball, I got that he
was just in a detox and not a true rehabilitation program. He said he hoped that Rush got into one, that it would probably be a very long-term thing with support groups and NA.

4. Somebody mentioned Palm Springs so wouldn't that be
Betty Ford? I don't think he will be back on the air for a long time. I think it would depend on his sponsors and if they want to be associated with him now. It's funny, he could be a racist and a liar and it was okay, but a drug addict, never.

He may just make a big whiney Jimmy Swaggart type of repentance and pull it off. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I actually gave up on the thread....but now I can add another two-cents...:)

:yourock:

If Rush went to Sierra Tucson, then he will be strongly confronted! They will facilitate the option of him quitting talk radio. It feeds his disease!

I'm also curious if his employer will do randon drug screening? Or, if he does get arrested, will the courts do random drug testing?

Ultimately, we know the radio program is a set-up to relapse. Are we looking at self destruction of Rush like Robert Downey Jr.?

here is the link to Sierra Tucson....My brother-in-law went there. A serious program....

Silver Springs? I think that's what he said. I am not sure if he used it as an example or it's legit.

15. Ah the dittomonkeys are out and about
don't you just love message deleted. I don't believe it matters which detox he went into, he's a two time loser who only did this because he got caught. There is no third charm to this, when the pigboy goes into court if there isn't a genuine effort at contrition, his ass is long gone down the river.
Unless he draws a judge on the B.F.E.E. payroll that is.

19. I think this is the one...............
The facility is Tuscon Sierra, at 39580 South Lago de Oro Parkway, in Tuscon, Arizona, 85739 (1-800-842-4487, 1-800-624-9001, fax 520-825-7000). He said he would be in a residential drug treatment program for 30 days. Sierra is a luxury spa facility that charges about $1000 per day. http://www.sierratucson.com/ email outreach@sierratucson.com The medical director of the place, Michael E. Scott, M.D., was not available for comment.

22. Sierra Tucson would be my guess too
Lots of famous addicts meet there . There was a LBN post yesterday with news that it was "north of Tucson." That would likely be Sierra. Would also consider possibility of him having a stop-over at Canyon Ranch after detox. It caters to rich and famous (oh, the stories employees are sworn not to tell, but tell anyway...)

And if this third attempt at rehab fail, Tucson is close to the border and all those pharmacies in Mexico that sell RX for less.

Rush: take time and have some decent Mexican food, mingle with the people, visit the Desert Muesuem and absorb the beauty and quiet of the Sornoran Desert. Kick up your heels and dance at any one of the many fun night spots... find peace, man, and stop being such a blowhard. You might find life lovely enough to face without being wasted all the time.

I doubt if there's much of anything on aisle 8 to interest King Contin.

27. If Rush is rehabilitated he can no longer be Rush
It's that simple. You cannot keep playing the same game with yourself and think you're going to beat the odds.

You can't change a lifetime in 30 days. He will have to change his life and I doubt that's gonna happen.

This is all for show - cosmetic surgery of his psyche:smoke:

Several threads on this already. If you can use the "search" function in GD, look for "Tucson."
