A truly great story
I know there's a lot of anger here tonight about the * speech today on Veteran' Day. However, after coming back from Ft Logan National Cemetery, paying honor to my Dad and all of the other brave men and women who served our country so well, I see this story on MSNBC.com:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10006353/

At a time when the young of our nation may face a grim future, this story lets me know that there is good and selfless giving. An education to look forward to is a very powerful thing.

My hat's off to the generous people who made these wonderful contributions.

1. That's amazing.
Good for them. I just hope some RW whackos start saying, "see, you don't need federal assistance to go to school - private contributions can do it."

2. That is amazing
Whoever is quietly doing this is really changing lives. That's just amazing at a time of ever rising tuition and declining financial aid... free tuition! They won't be coming out of college with huge debt in their back.

Kalamazoo is not a little town. Every graduate getting free/reduced tuition at any public college or university in the state. What a gift, just amazing. Imagine how kids and parents are feeling hearing that news! It is a great incentive to move there too.

I lived and worked there for a while, a charming city with hills and trees. Somewhere I still have a "Yes Virginia, there really is a Kalamazoo" shirt I was given as a gift.

Thanks for the link
