Does anyone else feel like me?
I don't mean to complain, because I couldn't be more pleased by the coverage lately by the corporate media on the garbage this nitwit and his malicious crew have dumped on this country, its people, and the rest of the world, however...it makes me feel like I just stepped out of a time warp or something. Where the hell have these people been? I know, I know...they knew, but it just pisses me off so much that they act like they just discovered the location of the Holy Grail or something. They still aren't getting it quite right, but at least they are getting closer. This just amazes me. Stuff we have known to be true for ages, and they are acting like it's some great revelation.
And.....how long will their fickle coverage last?
Arrrrr...end of rant.

2. I feel like you. I felt like you in WPB Florida prior to the shock and
awe at the antiwar rally on Flagler.... I have felt this way for 5 years now. We are all living in a collective nightmare.... Stephen King could not make us feel this ill, skilled as he is.

3. I feel exactly the same way!
They're reporting these stories as if they've just uncovered something incredible and they deserve a medal for it ... but we knew all this stuff months (and in some case, years) ago! :eyes:

14. It took a category 5 hurricane to blow away the category 5 media spin that
they have been using to protect Bush for the last 5 years.

The media knew he was always a liar and that his administration was filled with thugs. They CHOSE to lie to the American people all these years because that was their job.

Katrina was unspinnable even for the best liars in the media.

4. Yes, I feel the same way as you.
I think the media has known all a long what was going on, but was being pressured into the fairy tale land right. The right is not so powerful now. The evil can now be seen by all in the world.

9. The evil has been seen by most of the world for a long time
The pieces are just now fitting together for many Americans who trusted an American president to do the right thing when it came war.

W did not. When you add the fact that he wants to cut programs for the needy while still giving tax cuts to the rich, most can see that this man's claim of being Christian is bogus. His dismantling of our environmental programs is another evil.

This whole administration is evil.

5. Same here
Anyone with an ounce of Googling skills could figure this out.

And journalists, with resources far beyond that should have said "Wait a minute....".

Me too.
Mixed with the elation of actually seeing the truth a little more often is the realization that we should have been seeing it all along. I'm no journalist, but I could see the truth of the situation. Why couldn't they?

6. It's the war, it's a giant gaping hole in the economy

...all the stories about consumer confidence and booming markets are complete bullshit and the public knows it.

Except for the rich who don't pay taxes, the corporate cronies and the war profiteering buddies of the bush cabal, everyone else is suffering in one way or another.

Nothing affects public opinion than losing a war than empty pockets.

8. to be fair...
They have to bring the rest of the population along with them.. There are millions of people who have NEVER heard any of this, and it is probably better that they get caught up in less-than-massive doses. And while I grieve for the damage that continues while the rest of the country "gets it", it's the only way we can ever get on the same page again. And things won't change until we do.

11. That's it in a nutshell, I guess.
If you didn't get that queasy feeling in your gut when the nitwit was selected, and if you don't pay attention to current events, I guess you would figure things were ok (until now, when things are so obviously not ok!). Besides, you're supposed to be able to trust your elected leaders, right, to do the right thing for you? That's why they represent you. So, I guess you have to expose them to the truth in small doses. Except for the fact that there are many of us that have been exposed to "large doses" for a long time, and have survived, even with the frustration of knowing the truth. But then, progressives actually think, and have the ability to problem solve, rather than just being happy that things seem ok.

12. The mainstream news is presenting data
for literally, the lowest common denominator. Obviously, a whole lot is lost in the filtering process.

There have been voices for a long while. K.O., for example, on Countdown...he was pointing out Ohio voting problems way back there and was really a voice in the wilderness.

been aware of what has been happening. I've never been able to figure out how he has survived.

13. I thought I would love this when it finally happened.
For years I said to myself, One day, everyone will see what crooks those Repubs are.

Now they're seeing it, and I just want to scream. Too little too late!

AAARHRHRHRHAHHAHHHGGGGGGG!

16. I know what you mean.
I thought I would feel some smug sense of "duh", but I don't. I'm glad they're being exposed, but frustrated that it took so long. So many have suffered, so I feel a sense of pain. We look so bad to the rest of the world, so I feel a sense of shame. I am hopeful, though, because the horrible story is being told, and people do care.
