Bill Press - BUSH Speech=big mistake
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 04:40 PM by kpete
Political mistake dividing country.

President made the decision to go to war. It is his war, he has to take responsibility for it.

President should have gone to Arlington.

Argument does not wash.

Press says Senator Rockefellar said he did not get same intelligence as president. It was cherry picked before it went to senate.

As heard in the SITUATION ROOM

1. I hope the public sees the duplicity in all this.
I can't believe Bush--giving this kind of speech on Veterans Day. What an idiot.

His crew should realize, as Cafferty as said, that this is not his day. It is the one day set aside to recognize the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

7. I've often thought that would bother him more than anything:
no more deference, no clapping, just treat him like he's irrelevent

I think that would throw him off more than anything

2. First line is intriguing.
Is it really a strategic mistake to divide the country? Or do the repub strategists want to do that in order to create "backers" they can manipulate and point to as the true AmuriKins.

6. Divide and conquer is their M.O. ... always has been
even as the country goes down in flames ... The word "compromise" is not in their vocabulary, they demonize their opponents, drive those wedges in so hard that we bleed. I'm absolutely sickened by their tactics and JackassInChief's speech today was just more evidence of how low they will go: Robbing veterans of a day of remembrance and thankfulness in favor of stale political posturing.

"Is Armistice Day now a mockery?"

3. Before the war, Bush & Co claimed that they had intel
that they couldn't show anyone. Now they claim everyone had the same intel. They are so full of it.

8. he's reminding me
of a degenerate gambler.

He loses $100 at blackjack, so he tries to win it back and loses $200, then he tries to win back the $300 and loses $600.

He's just digging his party into a deeper hole, when Republican Senators are going to have to answer that no, they don't receive the same intelligence.
