McDonald's Strip Search
Has there already been a thread about this? I did a search and came up with nothing.

Anyway, did anyway see the segment of PrimeTime last night about the young teenaged girl whose female boss strip searched her in the managers' office at the behest of some guy on the phone who was claiming to be a policeman investigating a purse theft? The guy proceeds to have the manager, and then her fiancee (?!?!) have the girl do completely humiliating things which ultimately results in some sexual molestation by the fiance. The manager says that she thought she was following the orders of an actual police offficer.

Did anyone else see this?

2. No, but it sounds sick
I hope if it did happen that the woman in question sues the manager for sexual harrassment, and ditches the boyfriend.

6. The young lady is sueing McD's...
...the manager has been fired and is also being sued and the manager's fiancee got something like 20-30 years. They also caught the creep who was making the calls. Apparently, he was making these kinds of calls all over the country. He'd target fast-food chain for some reason and it seems he usually got managers to cooperate.

3. That poor girl
I hope she gets a really good lawyer for that one. I hope that manager sees some time behind bars for it as well.

It looked sick as hell though. I have heard about this case, it was HORRIBLE. Those perverts need to be jailed.

I thought the strip search was bad enough but then stranger and stranger things started happening. It was a horror show.

7. Yep, I saw it. It was unimaginable!!!! How can anyone be that stupid?
You know, ask I watched that segment, I kept thinking, that mgr. reminds me of somebody. Finally I realized who she kinda looked like. She looks a little like Linda Tripp! That same strong beligerance, and "I thought I was doing the right thing" sentiment!

8. I saw a video of this on TV a while back...

At a friend's house. The guy WAS a cop, and he accused a young lady working the drive-through of shortchanging him on a $20 bill. She didn't have a $20 in her register, so the cop tried to arrest her. She wouldn't submit without an explanation, and the cop pepper sprayed her, and eventually strip-searched her. Guess what? She didn't have the money. The cop was just a stupid asshole. She ended up getting a $60,000 settlement, I'm not sure what happened to him.

EDIT: My bad. Two totally different things.

therapy and use it for other screwy things she does to herself until she gets her head on straight after that. I wish it had been alot more than $60,000.

McD needs to train their managers better than that.

Somebody's very twisted idea of a good time, and I really don't get it. They don't make money doing it--they don't even get to watch! Glad to hear they caught the bastard!

16. Do they know the name of the person they want strip searched?
Or do they just say "your employee" or what? Do they just listen to it going on and get off on that?

17. If I recall correctly...
Edited on Fri Nov-11-05 03:08 PM by skypilot
...in this particular incident the caller simply gave a general description like: young girl with dark hair and a McDonald's uniform. The idiot manager thought that this one girl fit the description well enough and then proceeded to torment her. The whole thing was so strange is so many ways.

19. Complete story here-long read, but worth it-obeying "authority figures"
http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051009/NEWS01/510090392/1008

This is the sickest story I have ever read, but it shows how conditioned our society has become to following illegal orders, no matter how wrong they seem.

Seems the * administration has this concept down to a T.

20. Tivo and watched it today
The manager needs her silly ass kicked. I'm sorry but there was no excuse for what she allowed that girl to go through. The police station was right down the freaking street, not even two miles down the street. How in the hell are you going to follow instructions from a stranger on the phone? You know what I think it was. I think the manger has a superiority issue and for once in her sorry life someone was making HER feel important. Here she had this young girl who allegedly stole something so now not only does she get to order this girl around she gets to humiliate her. I bet she was really feeling important as she watched that poor girl strip and cry. It seem like she was being flattered by that sick person on the other line. When dude asked her if she was married then she should of known it was a hoax. I don't know why her sorry ass wasn't put in jail right alongside her sick ex fiance. My husband said the manager wasn't too smart but her sorry ass was smart enough to lawyer up for that primetime interview, sick witch.
